skyrims' supermonsters

Post » Tue Mar 09, 2010 3:59 pm

I was just wandering why do the land monsters get all the love, i for once would like to be terrified of the river, or sea. i wanted to know if you guys think that they will add a higher difficulty to the waters this time, and if so what kind of monsters would you like to see.

Morrowind's Slaughterfish, attacking you even if your feet aren't totally submerged.

I wouldnt expect many warm climate animals in Skyrim......but a water nymph would be nice I think, and some squid.

yea, i think that slaughterfish, should be like killer piranhas, and there should be something bigger, maybe like the cracken, or a giant croc, all i know is that i have seen a lot of documentaries and there is alot to pick from.

SR isn't all frozen tundra. It has multiple climates.

skyrims' supermonsters?

I'm thinking they might be dragons. I just have this feeling dragons are gonna be the big kids on campus. It's just a theory.

In all seriousness in terms of river monsters

A giant squid would be absolutely amazing under the right circumstances.

It would be a perfect quest to fit the viking feel of the game.

Picture this. You walk into a fisherman's pub, and notice a group of people sitting and listening to someone telling a great tale. On further inspection, you learn that it is a tale about him and his crew's encounter with a giant squid. When he's done, you talk to him, and he tells you that he wants to kill the squid more than anything, as revenge for it killing his first mate. And from there, you set off on a ship, and eventually encounter and fight the squid.

Nope, Leviathin is the biggest. Big whale, makes giant whirlpools that svcks entire fleets down. :)

I don't think you can really say for sure what is the biggest mythological creature. I mean depictions often wildly vary, and it's not like each time they had a myth, they gave exact dimensions of the creature.

I don't see the appeal of underwater monsters. Fighting with a sword-and-shield or any melee weapon underwater is pretty pointless. Most magicka doesn't work underwater. I hate swimming around in video games, and having to fight some boss while doing so, in addition to monitoring my breath so I don't drown...why is this a fun idea again?

Maybe I'm just having problems imagining it.

I almost drowned as a child so even if I know there are no creatures in the bodies of water in any game I hate going in it. Mmmm Phobias! :D

How about Mega Shark... Or perhaps a Giant Squid...

Maybe both... In a battle of wits, agility and endurance.... underwater!

SR isn't all frozen tundra. It has multiple climates.

And none of them are the kind of environments you'll find crocodilians.

And none of them are the kind of environments you'll find crocodilians.

And none of them are the kind of enviroments where you'd find giant spiders, either. But, they are in the game. SR is a video game and fictional place. It doesn't have to mirror our world, nor should it.
