SkyTEST - Realistic Animals & Predators Thread #2

Post » Sun Jun 02, 2013 12:44 am

I'm not having CTDs at Riverwood->Guardian Stones anymore (after 1.24) .

I'm still having one or another casual CTDs over randoms locations...but it's OK, as long as my VGA is burning with thousands of HQ textures (GPUZ says : 100% GPU usage + 100% VRAM usage )

This machine is just for stress test...so now I can say (finally) Skytest is CTDs free (for me at least).

Actually I've never thought this mod was buggy...but I knew that for Low End Rigs having 10 or 15 HQ elks at once (and suddenly) could be like a heart attack.

Now one request: How about No swimming animals ? It is very odd to see elks and deers coming out from rivers.

Just one more question : I couldn't find those scripts files in my disk....Is it OK ??? (I don't have CK).

pep legal

You dont have the CK installed i assume, like i said removing those scripts will not affect the Game, but will surely affect the CK but i still dont know how, oh and i already tried different things to stop Animals from diving into water... no luck, i have a feeling it has something to do with AI PathFinding and navmesh, it seems some animals are unable to know they are already in water and think they are still moving in land.

Hi, just popping in on you with a question: Are SkyTEST + SkyRe good to go together?
Thanks

Love this mod! Definitely keeps me hiding at night, due to the large packs of hungry wolves who love to feats on the DragonBorn

Noticed your comment in the mod comment section too, not sure... but it should work in theory.

I have to say I love this it's really brought the wilderness to life. One thing I added Real Wild Life Skyrim to increase the variety of creatures. As noted in the OP I've noticed Factions and LeveledCharacters Lists issues. I had thought Wrye Bash would resolve this. Apparently not when I'm getting mauled by bears wolves and various kinds of cats like mountain lions. They act as if they're on the same faction. You've made a quality mod and put a lot of work into it and I appreciate that. I'm kind of hoping that you might release the compatibility patch. Am I hoping in vain?

So it sounds like you've done all you can without scripting, any plans on progressing to that?

I am not sure i want to mess with scripts... having scripts will boost a lot the Animal Behavior posibilities but will also bring a whole lot of new issues and unstability, not to mention that if you happen to remove the mod the Save game will be screwed... main reason why i been thinking to stay the course,

I thought you can make "end quest" command that stops all the scripts dealing with your mod and makes it safe to uninstall?

I'd say that this is certainly possible. Duke Patrick has something like this for his mod, you can run the command from the console or by adjusting the right option in aadpcombat and using "bat aadpCombat", and it stops all scripts for his mod.

If I use the ESM version of the mod, will it load the bsa automatically like an ESP or do I need to manually add it to my skyrim.ini?

Do the animals sleep at all?!

It would make sense for them to sleep and to have that time of day / night safer for the traveler

I am most definitely inclined to agree with this. It's something which has always seemed a bit odd to me and would add a great deal to the realism and immersion of the game. While it is most certainly a morbid aspect to add in a mod, I'm sure we've seen far, far worse.

My goal was to hit 20 Endorsemants, when i started the mod people was giving a hard time to the mod because it wasent "realistic", so i never expected to get this far.

By the way been too busy protesting for the electoral fraud, but i plan to keep working on the mod... no plans to abandon it any time soon.

I would assume Israel if the location on his profile is to be believed.

I rather enjoy using SkyTest, it has made my Skyrim experience much more interesting, and much more so when ASIS is used with your mod.

Inclined to agree with charon here, you should give yourself more credit. This mod is brilliant! Just wish Skyrim was a more stable game (my game is stable, but sometimes you add one mod and it topples like a card house in a typhoon).
