Slave questions

Post » Fri May 27, 2011 6:01 pm

I'm thinking ahead, to when I complete the House Redoran quests, about having some more company at my fortress. I'm thinking that buying slaves would make it easy to put some more warm bodies in a place, but...

If I free them after bringing them to my fortress, will they eventually leave?

Can I equip them with new clothes or other items (such as something that overburdens them so they can't move and thus escape)?

I've never played around with slaves, except for finding and freeing them, so I'm not too learned about them.

Of course, I'm playing on the Xbox; on PC all this is moot :)

Slaves, once freed will leave as soon as you enter a new area. I.E the house. You cannot equip them with anything sadly, as I have tried that to make them body guards. But, and Im unsure if this will work, but in theory it plays out.

When summoning anything, if you make the spell 2 seconds+ soultrap for 1 second on target, it makes the creature you summon permanent.

In thoery, you could create a burden 100 points for 2 seconds+ a soul trap on target for 1 second.

Also, command humanoid for 2 seconds+soul trap on target for one second should work as well, to add flavor.

Note: If the spell doesnt work correctly, try looking at your feet, facing the person and casting...if THAT doesnt work, make the spells area effect and make sure they are standing within the area....

I've thought about that one, having experimented extensively with perma-bound spells.

I'd have to change soultrap for something benign, like fortify strength or restore health, as there's no point riling up a NPC I want to have around, but it's worth some experimentation.

To be honest, there are plenty of people at the Redoran stronghold already - especially in the manor itself. I'm not sure there'd really be room for slaves as well.

Gotcha - I wasn't aware that there were people in the Manor houses before I started this thread. Like I said, I had done the House Telvanni quests and I thought that all strongholds were populated like Tel Uvirith was.

Nice to know that ain't the case :)

Hlaalu's manor is kind of barren, too.
Redoran has quite the population.
