Sleep in my bed and get your ass shot.

Post » Mon Jan 18, 2016 6:01 am

One of my damn pet peeves in coming back to Sanctuary and finding Marcie Long or someone else asleep in my [censored] bed. What happens is they get shot several times. Yet, the [censored]s never learn their lesson. I really wish someone would fix that problem. It is enough to make me want to go and play another game, other than Fallout 4.

Just go into build mode and assign them a bed.

I have had little luck assigning beds (playstation 4) it is very hit and miss and it SEEMS anytime someone new comes to town it is a bed free for all once again. (at least to me I may not be patient enough and that is the real problem)

same here. anytime headcount changes, all the assignments seem to get re-shuffled.

I've found quite a few new settlers in mine. I just go into build mode, click on them, select a new bed and they get up and move to the new bed.

I don't believe you can assign a bed to yourself, so it's not your bed. ;)

As suggested above, your best bet is to try to assign everyone to other beds.

Just place your bed where they can't reach it. Make a step the AI can't / won't try. I build on top of Red Rocket, and no stairs leads up there. Instead I have a traveling mat up there, and a ladder stored in cases I want up from the ground (if I for some reason went down) Added bonus is I can ignore attacks, since, how are they supposed to get to my items, fly? :D

I have tried assigning beds and making sure I had more beds then needed. this tends to keep most npc aside from followers that are at locations, from using my bed

however for us PC players there is a neat trick. Lock your doors. That's right. select the door ID with the console command window open and type in "lock 10" and this locks the door with a novice difficulty of 10. not only do you get experience for unlocking your own door with a pin, but npc settlers and the like will not unlock your door while you are away.

Plus for RP reasons, locking your door when you leave makes sense.

For console users, assign all beds and then store the recruitment beacon to stop newbies from coming in.

I've assigned beds to everyone, but random someone's seem to decide to doss in my bed at various times.

I just want lockable doors. I'm tired of 'waking up' and finding some warbie from the settlement standing in the bedroom or making themselves at home in my digs.

(To get onto the red rocket roof, if you build a two story house next to the overhang, you can build a big flight of stairs to it, just for info)

I don't live up there, but I did put some turrets on the roof. I just built a wood building near it, built a ladder to the roof, then a ladder from the building roof to the red rocket roof

I assign the beds, but you can't assign companions and Preston keeps getting in my bed. To make matters worse he keeps throwing my fluffy pillow on the floor. I finally just put a bed in at RR and I'm the only one there. Finally some peace and quite.

Funny, one simple fix might cause everyone else to NOT sleep in your bed. I think Bethesda really likes micro management. lol

I haven't tried it, but can you set ownership with the console like we could in the past?

You build a stair so you can get up there, and then remove it afterwards. Just remember to build the fast traveling mat once up there. I used two of the wooden floors with the stairs on them. A bit easier since they will hook on to each other.

I just remove the bed in my apt and remake it when I want to sleep. Otherwise I always have Sturges in it. At least Marcy sleeps with her husband in the barracks now.

I build my generators and power lines up there. If you do this it gives electricity to the whole building without having to string wires inside. I also have the whole top decked out in missile turrets which is pretty great when a hostile Vertibird flies by.

I've stopped even going out to fight anymore. I just hear distant explosions from inside and keep doing what I'm doing and go check out the smoldering wreckage later.
