Sleeping doesn't heal you in hardcoe

Post » Tue Sep 28, 2010 4:39 pm

Damn, this IS going to be a challenge.

You can get an implant that gives you natural health regen, plus there will probably be a Perk or two that can help out in the healing department. Not to mention that bullets will still do around the same damage as Fallout 3.

What I'm saying is that the game on hardcoe mode is not going to be super hard (FWE style) or anything, although it does seem like it's going to be lots of fun.

Indeed. Although, I'm starting to wonder whether hardcoe mode will be more of a nuisance than a challenge.

Seriously. Up until I read this and some other info in that thread, I was planning on playing hardcoe right off the bat.

Now I may do a normal run through just to get a grasp on the new mechanics and enjoy the story.

Most of us said FO3 was way too easy and we wanted something harder. Looks like we're going to get what we asked for.

After reading this, who knows what other surprises will be include in hardcoe. B)

If I remember, solar powered perk is going to be in, so if you can find a bed to sleep in that's outside you can heal. You can also bask in the sun for a day to heal and then go back and sleep. But beware, you'll need to consume more food and water for wasting more time laying around outside.

I guess if you have experience w/ FWE you probably know what is in store.

I'm a console player, so unfortunately I haven't played FWE but I've read a bit about it and watched some vids.

I'm really going to enjoy how much hardcoe mode is going to slow the pace of the game, not to mention make character creation more important.

Looking forward to getting into some situations I can't get out of!

Solar powered was a pretty high level perk, lvl 20 if I remember correctly. Could be a long wait, but maybe they put in some lower lvl health based perks.

In hardcoe mode we might have invest points in things that don't require killing or opening something. Imagine that. :)

There should be some health regen to sleeping.

It certainly shouldn't be like FO3 where you put your head down for one hour after being mauled by a deathclaw and are back to full health. But Sleeping DEFINATELY helps the healing process IRL.

why does every exagerate with deathclaws and albino rad scorps their not all that hard

on topic: sleeping shouldnt recover damaged limbs or cripiled limb but small amouts of health (5% per hour)

Uhhh... So what? That just makes it less of a sissy game. I never use sleep in Fo3. In my made-up hardcoe mode, I just wait instead, and pretend my character slept. It won't really matter, sheesh.

Sleeping wasn't a regular thing for me in Fallout 3, but I still found the sleep healing very useful. It will be missed. Oh well, at least I still have the Recharger Rifle for my hardcoe mode playthrough.

So, people will just spend a week in bed to heal now /shrug. It's also good for healing the soul.. and bumpy marriages :P

I hope it's true, and the same goes for drinking water and eating food. I think that is so stupid in Fallout 3. Blown to pieces, limbs crippled? No problem, just take a nap for an hour.
