Sleeping doesn't heal you in hardcoe

Post » Tue Sep 28, 2010 4:44 pm

Did anyone else already know this? This will definitely make things a lot harder.

hmm source? So far I only heard you needed sleep in hardcoe mode, not that it removes the heal.

How nice of you to call J.E Sawyer a demo tester.

Well... I believe it is true. It's kinda un-realistic to sleep and recover all your health, I am not saying Fallout needs to be a realistic game, or that it is, but you know what I mean.
That should make things very hard!

It will make things harder, but I would prefer it if it just didn't heal crippled limbs.

Or healed at a much slower rate... 10% health return for sleeping? 5%? Obviously bed-rest has some benefit to healing, or they wouldn't put you in a BED in the hospital.

I agree, you should be able to heal some of your health, but not crippled limbs, or it just improves the condition of the limbs slightly

So long as I still get the 10% EXP increase then I'm happy with this change. I know that the 10% isn't needed (at least it wasn't in FO3), but it's still useful for those characters I like to power level to see how fast I can reach the cap. I'll be doing this in both normal and hardcoe modes.

Not to veer this thread off topic, but has anyone heard if you still get the experience increase on harder difficulty levels in FNV? In Fallout 3, I played it on harder difficulty for increased challenge, but the fact that you level faster for it kinda defeated the purpose.

There should be some health regen to sleeping.

It certainly shouldn't be like FO3 where you put your head down for one hour after being mauled by a deathclaw and are back to full health. But Sleeping DEFINATELY helps the healing process IRL.

This is how it should be - I'm very glad they took out sleep-healing from hardcoe mode!

Maybe they should have made it based on Strength or endurance. Oh well. I hope most ammunition can easily be looted instead of bought so my caps can be focused on getting medical supplies.

Good. That's how it should be. It's called hardcoe mode for a reason.

I like this. I can't tell you how many times I just slept off my damage when I could have used my stims. It made me end up with hundreds of stims by the end of the game.

Oh snap indeed. This is some serious news.

Does this mean there are no natural ways to heal?

Water, food, stims and seeing a doctor are the only way to heal yourself?

Damn, this IS going to be a challenge.

Edit: Thanks for posting this!

Indeed. Although, I'm starting to wonder whether hardcoe mode will be more of a nuisance than a challenge.
