I recommend reading the http://www.imperial-library.info/pge/wildregions.shtml http://www.imperial-library.info/pge3/other_lands.shtml. The first one actually has some interesting info about their life-cycle, which for one reason or another isn't in the 3rd edition.
On the other hand, the 3rd edition has some interesting stuff about Thras itself.

We know that at some point they (possibly) enginererd (I don't register to that theory) a disease and attacked Tamriel that nearly killed everyone and a massive Armada was assembled to sink Thras.

Sloads come from Thras, a group of islands situated way out in the western sea. Ever since the Thraissian Plauge they've not really been welcome anywhere on Tamriel if I recall.

You might be mistaking the Thrassian Plague with the Knahaten Flu. :D

The sload in that picture looks like those creatures in Hitch hikers guide to the galaxy that are obsessed with filling out forms and can't write poetry to save their lives. Can't remember what they're called though.

Edit: Oh wait, that is a picture from hitch hikers guide to the galaxy isn't it?

Sload are Extremly powerful necromancers.

Most were wiped out by the people of tamreil because...well they unleashed a plague that killed millions!Millions i tells ya!

I remember i thread that had info about sload soap, apparently, the soap is made from there own babys.

And my morrowind character washed himself with it :yuck:

the sload had connections in Tear of Morrowind. they'd use airships to buy slaves for their own amusemant. of course with the ban on slavery now, they may not venture there anymore.

Read the post i qouted, tear is a city in morrowind tyhat has connections with the sload, they supply the necros with slaves(Which later are turned into corpses for necromatical(Is that even a word?) purposes.

With the ban on slavery they no longer have acess to the bodies, i was suggesting that mabye they should send another plague to tamreil so that there is an abundance of bodies that the elves need to get rid of, not only will the sload take the bodies off the Dunmers hands but they'll even pay for it.

Everyones wins.

Except the people that died of course. :D

Slavery won't stop just because it's banned.
Neither will trafficking.

it will be greatly reduced. the ban just isn't imperial law anymore which didn't apply to morrowind, it's an edict from king helseth, and with the alliance of hlaalu and dren, the main source of slaves will dry up. also not many are that willing to cross helseth and his men.

sure there'll still be slaves around, and ways to get slaves, but it's no longer an open market, and the sload aren't going to bother with it, and just get bodies other easier ways.

i'd thought the telvanni would be interested with the sload, but they aren't.
