They are a heavily magical necromantically inclined slug race, kind of in the vein of Jabba the Hut. They likely still exist and the only known Sload was called N'Ghasta or something and was a very powerful necromancer. They were thought to have been wiped out by the All Flags Navy led by Bendu Olo after they were linked with the Thrassian Plague that wiped out large populations of Tamriel back in like the second era. This was off the top of my head from a mobile device so anyone feel free to add on or correct.

-Dont use the wiki or the UESP when it comes to lore.
The wiki is just a hop-scotch of random snippets with no regard as to what is fictional and what is historical (some TES books are stories written by in-universe fiction writers) and the UESP is run by people who value their opinion over proof.
Use the Ihttp://www.imperial-library.info/.

-http://www.monkeytruth.net/texts/sloadtale.shtml fun little monkey-truth tale about the Sload may help you get more into their mindset.

UESP is good for gameplay. The Library is better for lore, as you said.

The wikia........it's on the verge of fan fiction.

The sload would buy argonian and khajiit slaves from the Dres house in Morrowind and illegal slaves in Senchal and fly them away in monstrous air-ships to Thras

Sload are apparently the major leaders of Nirn's soap industry.

TESWikia honestly said Titus II, emperor 160-odd years after Titus I and unborn as of the novels, was Attrebus' brother. Double-you, tee, [censored]?

I assumed it was made from rendered Sload fat. They have a lot of it, according to what little of them we've seen.

And yes, their flatulence can be used to fly to the moon.

I'm just giggling with joy as I imagine giant slug people farting all the way up to the moon.

Sload Kid: I found cheese on Secuda.

I didn't giggle (because I don't giggle) but my sentiment was the same. It was quite humorous.

You can find most known information about the Sload in the http://imperial-library.info/content/pocket-guide-empire-first-edition-wild-regions and http://imperial-library.info/content/pocket-guide-empire-third-edition-thras.

They also are the only known race to have working Internet and access to the real world. N'gasta, the Sload necromancer seen in Redguard, enjoys reading the Stockholm Esperanto Society as seen in http://imperial-library.info/content/mystery-ngasta-kvata-kvakis.
