Slodes in Skyrim...possibly?

Post » Thu Sep 29, 2011 11:35 am

okay I just read the first 3 chapters of Lord of Souls and it was mentioned how the Sloads were an elusive race that may have conjured the city of Umbriel in to Tamriel....Now I'm not sure if they became extinct between this crisis and the time period in which skyrim takes place, but if they have not then there is, how ever small it may be a chance that Sloads could make an appearance in skyrim, maybe a boss battle.. I for one would love to see atleast one.

Please no slug people. If there is one thing I'm afraid of, its slugs. I can deal with seeing them drawn, or in redguard with its crappy graphics but bringing them in Skyrim? *shudders*

Arachnophobes have to deal with giant spiders I'm sure you can manage if they are even in the game.

With Falmer making an appearance I don't see why Sload couldn't. I'm pretty sure the Sload haven't died out and become extinct in the lore. Just it would be hard to make them a race with specialized Armour etc... I don't even think they can walk out of water without the use of magic?

sloads need magic to even move on land, and with our ever shrinking arsenal of spells they would be much to afraid of coming on land and forgetting how to levetate, or use a feather spell :teehee:

but the sloads used chemical warfare, which would, and did, turn the other races agasnt them(i got that information from word-of-mouth, not out of the uesp, so might not be reliable)

Yeah I know "bro". Doesn't mean I still can't be creeped out.

The worst thing about them is that they move by teleporting. I mean seriously? A race of teleporting, magic wielding Jabba the Hutts? One could appear behind you, without you even noticing.

You are correct that no race likes the sload. A whole armada was formed just to destroy them. They would be attacked on sight. They also unleashed the Thrassian plague on mainland Tamriel.

Another chance to promote my masterpiece!

The Lusty Sload Maid

A play in three acts by Naughtius Curio

ACT TWO, SCENE III

Ngh'lstlkvaktl: I SHALL CLEAN NO SPEARS. SUCH WORK IS BENEATH A MIGHTY NECROMANCER SUCH AS MYSELF.

Niltius Crario: But...

Ngh'lstlkvaktl: SILENCE. I HAVE ENTERED MY REPRODUCTIVE CYCLE. I MUST SPAWN AND YOU SHALL ASSIST ME.

Niltius Crario: By the Nine! Help!

Ngh'lstlkvaktl (its corpulent form oozing over the helpless Niltius): YOU SHALL BE SILENT WILLINGLY OR I SHALL FORCE YOUR SILENCE. I HAVE NOT THE PATIENCE TO MAINTAIN A SPELL OF SILENCE, SO IT WILL BE A SIMPLE MATTER TO MELD THE FLESH OF YOUR MOUTH-HOLE SHUT WITH DESTRUCTIVE MAGIC. THIS PROCESS WILL TAKE SIXTEEN HOURS AND IF YOU MOVE I SHALL BE FORCED TO REMOVE YOUR LIMBS AND WE WILL START OVER AGAIN FROM THE BEGINNING.

Oh Pete totes confirmed on twitter just recently that we'll be meeting a friendly Sload companion that sells Spears and lives in an abandoned Dwemer Crossbow factory and fights by dual-wielding shields and bashing opponents to death.

If so, that would be a nice surprise.

I fondly remember interacting with the lone sload in Redguard. I found his story unique and unsettling, and would welcome learning more about such a dissagreeable race.

Really, anything that adds to or simply deepens the in-game lore (without breaking it) is a good thing IMO.
