Slowest... Loading... Everr

Post » Sun May 02, 2010 7:42 am

Has anyone else counted? I've counted at least 40-60 seconds of loading. There are also plenty of fetch quests on New Vegas, so every time I go back and forth I have to go through a long minute reading through tips and watching that roulette spin. I pray to God they fix this, I really do, because this is really irritating.

I'm getting 10 second loading times at most. Then again, I'm playing the PC version.

Im also playing the pc version and average is around 3-5secs with 5 being for new world areas usually and around 10secs being longest i've seen. You should try installing it to hdd (on 360 anyway) that may speed things up on ps3 i've no idea, though some games do install to hdd :S. IMO SSD drives have little effect on this game vs decent sata, and when returning to area you where just in is usually in the ram, so hdd has no real effect.

What!? Slow. I don't think 10sec is too slow.

It's a memory leak, install the game to your hard drive if you're on the 360 and clear your cache every few hours and you should be fine.

I'm guessing you're on the Xbox 360?

If so, then I recommend installing the game to your hard drive. Not only will it reduce loading times, but it should also help with any performance issues you may be having like frame slowdowns. It may also reduce the chance of lockups.

Another thing to do is to clear the cache on your hard drive as well. That REALLY helps with performance.

that just the size of your file is getting bigger, so of course it is gonna take longer to load

My friend had the same issue. He chopped off about 30-40 seconds of load time by installing it.

Load times on the PC are extremely fast for me. Can't imagine how fast a nice SSD would do, probably about like loading interior cells. :D

Ok, now I know how to install the game to my hard drive but I don't have enough space for 4.8 GB. I have another hard drive that has 12 GB but that means that I would have to start a new game?

The longer you play in one session the longer the load times will get, just quit to the menu menu every hour or so :)

Ps3 load times are prohibitive imo. Is there any way to speed them up does anyone know?
