Small easy question o.0

Post » Tue Oct 05, 2010 4:16 pm

OKay first let me start by saying ive NEVER been able to get fcom installed, though ive ALWAYS wanted to. Today is the day and im following the guide on the website WORD FOR WORD. Everything has been going smooth until right after i installed the actual fcom files, in my screenshot you can see where i am on the instructions and you can see my wyre bash. Ive just inserted all those esm files and such in the "Main plugins" seciton. My questions is those parts in wyre marked in red. Obviously there is some conflict there or some problem. I figured id just come here and ask if ive done something wrong, or if that is normal at this point and will resolve itself when i actually bash the stuff together later.

thanks for any help you guys give me, i have REALLY enjoyed oblivion and i just know ill love the fcom experience.

In that image you linked to are the answers. BOSS, and/or follow those load order guidelines.

I think "red" means the files all share the exact same "modified" time. Click on each one and change the time on them in the window on the right. Ex: 11:05:25, change to 11:05:26, then click on the next redlined esp and change it to 11:05:27, etc.

yes i am actually, i used it and the red showed up, then i made the changes manually and ran it again and everything stayed how it is now. I assume its all fine and im moving on in the install

*edit*

im confused, i was under the impression that boss would fix the load order for me? am i supposed to manually adjust the load order to match the one in that txt file that comes up when i run boss?

If BOSS did that, you need to make sure Lock Times is turned off in Wrye Bash. Right-click on file, make sure that setting is not checked, and rerun BOSS. BOSS should not set files to the same timestamp.

okay yeah, i had lock times turned on and ive now turned it off. thanks for catching that. Allthough now that ive turned it off and ran boss again it seems to have simply put the mods in abc order. Man this makes me feel like an idiot.

Make sure you have your list in Wrye Bash sorted by load order, and not alphabetically. Left-clicking the various headers in the mods tab will change the way it sorts.

Mods within groups, will often be sorted alphabetically, but that should not apply to your entire load order.

Edit: Also, to post your load order, just right-click on the "File" tab, choose "List mods" and paste here. (It copies the list for you.)
