[REQ] a small MOD to solve a BUG

Post » Fri Feb 18, 2011 9:52 pm

Once upon a time, in 2008 I played fallout 3, but I didn't finish the game. Recently I reinstalled the game, almost all the MODs related to my savegame except for one which I didn't need anymore (Armor Disguise), but it left a nasty side-effect. The aforementioned mod, granted 'friendly status' to the enclave, if wearing the proper Enclave Officer Uniform, once I got rid of the mod though, the Enclave turned to be friendly all the times, which takes away from my game. I was wondering if anyone can help me out sorting the Enclave status back to hostile per default, as it used to be. Thanks for your cooperation.

Probably the easiest solution is to install that mod again, make sure you aren't wearing the uniform and the Enclave are hostile to you, make a new save and then remove that mod.

I tried that, the problem is that right now, the enclave is friendly in ANY case, wheter I have the mod on or not, wheter I wear the uniform or not. Probably some flag messed up?

I don't know how the mod in question works, but you may be able to fix it by a console command: Open the console (the key below 'Esc') and type

player.RemoveFromFaction 1d3fd

This removes the player from the Enclave faction.

You'd probably have to use a save where that mod was still active. A save where you had removed the mod and then played for any amount of time probably won't work.

For a moment I hoped it could work, as it made sense, but I tried and it didn't work :( I can still "press E to talk to Enclave Soldiers", the only way I can make them hostile is if I unload a FULL magazine on them (a couple of shots don't do the trick). Perhaps there's a console command to make a faction hostile? Any further suggestions?

@Showler: As for the traces of the previous mods, FOMM doesn't see it linked to the savegame at all, it was a theory of mine, perhaps the problem's elsewhere?

You need to go back to a savegame that still has that mod listed as active, one from your original playthrough. Then use that save to reset everything.

If that save is too far back, you'll need to open the mod in the GECK and find the scripts and see what changes it makes.

Do you have a link for the mod? If it's small someone may be able to look at it for you.

They might have used setAlly to do it, so the player's companions played along.
SetEnemy 1b2a4 1d3fd would counter that.

Now that did the trick, thank you very much TT :)

Also, by googling the codes you posted I found that bit of informations:

A: If you have tried other Disguises Mods which manipulate the PlayerFaction directly, you could become stuck as ENEMY/FRIEND until you start a new Game (creating a new character). Uninstalling the Mod will not fix it. It can be fixed using console commands, but it's not 100% safe. Below are a few commands that may (or may not) fix it. Only try the command for the faction you are having problem with. If it doesn't work DON'T SAVE! Reload the SAVE or try an older SAVE (so it doesn't get even worse). If you already have yaDisguisesMod installed, make sure you aren't wearing armor that matches the faction you're having problem with. Otherwise you may not notice if the fix works or not...

SetEnemy 1b2a4 1d3fe 1 1 ; (sets PlayerFaction and BrotherHoodSteelFaction NEUTRAL)
SetEnemy 1b2a4 1d3ff 1 1 ; (sets PlayerFaction and BrotherhoodOutcastFaction NEUTRAL)
SetEnemy 1b2a4 1d3fd 1 1 ; (sets PlayerFaction and EnclaveFaction NEUTRAL)
SetEnemy 1b2a4 1f1d6 1 1 ; (sets PlayerFaction and RCSecurityFaction NEUTRAL)
SetEnemy 1b2a4 1ffb6 1 1 ; (sets PlayerFaction and RobotFaction NEUTRAL)
SetEnemy 1b2a4 28d95 1 1 ; (sets PlayerFaction and SlaverFaction NEUTRAL)
SetEnemy 1b2a4 19018 1 1 ; (sets PlayerFaction and TenpennyGuardFaction NEUTRAL)
SetEnemy 1b2a4 214b6 1 1 ; (sets PlayerFaction and Vault101SecurityFaction NEUTRAL)
