Small question about dropgathering

Post » Mon Mar 10, 2014 5:10 pm

If me and my friend kill the same enemy, we got separate loots or is KS or the loot goes to the first pick? if yes to separate drop, the loot is better if u kill more % of the enemy then your friend, if a boss drop 2 itens each one got only one item or each one got two ramdom?

me and my friend can miner the same mineral on floor or it`s to first?

You just have to land one hit on an enemy to be able to loot him, the amount of damage you dealt to him is irrelevant. The loot from enemies is separate: you get your loot, your friend gets his.

As for ressources like iron, only one of you can gather it

one hit is most often enough to get loot rights but not always, i believe you need to do "significant" dmg in order to get loot rights(no idea if significant is 1%, 5%, or 10%, its not a lot)

as long as you have loot rights you have the same chance for loot, it doesnt matter who did the most dmg, anyone with loot rights have the same chance

Actually, I healed some guys through a fight and never attacked the enemies, but I still had the chance to loot. There is no minimum of damage required, as long as you have "engaged" in the fight.

then you likely did a "significant" amount of healing

so yeah i should have called it a "significant" amount of contribution(damage or healing)

i know for a fact that i have hit mobs with splash damage without getting loot rights, and im also quite certain i have hit mobs with basic attacks without getting loot rights, now if i land a heavy attack i have never experienced not getting loot rights

edit: the reason i use significant, is because i believe i have seen that from an official source, i dont recall if it was a loading screen or an answer from a dev in an interview, but im quite sure i have seen that wording

There is no minimum amount of contributions, some enemies just don't drop loot.

It is also possible that someone gets loot from an enemy and not you, just because bad luck.

Ok ok, I'm not afraid to say that I was wrong. I found something that seems to approve of what you said. It was posted on November 18, 2013 on the official Elder Scrolls website. Did it change since then? I'm going to assume it didn't. So you were right.

From "Ask Us Anything: Variety Pack 11"

I've played many multi-player games, and 99% of them are eventually plagued with the same enjoyment-killing problem. What is this problem? Kill-stealing. You know, jerks who like to go into areas where people are farming or trying to level and kill-steal them relentlessly. Does ESO have a plan to implement something to prevent this? – Emily

Fighting the enemies of your alliance—NPCs as well as PCs—should be something every aspiring hero jumps at the opportunity to do. We don’t intend to limit helpful behavior in Tamriel by lowering the experience or loot you can take away from a hard-fought victory. If you help someone kill an enemy he is already engaged with, all you can do is take away some of the pride he might have felt by winning the fight on his own. He’ll still receive the full amount of experience and loot. If you did enough damage (or provided enough support), you might get some experience and loot of your own, too. And if the two of you decide to group together, both of you will get even more…

Sorry for saying something false, you were right, but my signature tells it :P
