Small racial guilds. Would you want them?

Post » Fri Oct 07, 2011 12:02 pm

Racial guilds. 10 small guilds(4-5 quests) that you can join. One for each race. Each non-conflicting with the other racial guilds but still 'damaging'/beneficial to other races to some extent. Mostly about making the lives of that race easier in a certain area. Makes it easier for the people making the quests.

So the Dunmer could have some quest-lines killing off some abusive Argonians, though it would be related to the Argonians guild, the quest-lines would not acknowledge this. Maybe some comments about those damn Dunmer or something. Here is an example for the Dunmer.

Quest 1. Stop some abusive Argonians from harassing the local Dunmer populace. Intimidate or kill the guilty Argonians.

Quest 2. Acquire supplies for a group of Dunmer to migrate to a new location.

Quest 3. Escort a group of Dunmer refugees out to a camp.

Quest 4. Help nullify any threats to the new Dunmer encampment.

Quest 5. Get permission from the Jarl to allow the Dunmer to possess these lands.

End result. A small village of Dunmer refugees that is self sustaining and can protect itself from outside aggression to some extent. The have unique Dunmer equipment for sale and one of the Refugees gives you a Dunmer weapon that was passed down in his or her family.

Thoughts? Obviously this could apply to all races and there is no racial lockouts, Just for fun. Also obviously it is way to late to put it in Skyrim but maybe mods? Or the next game. Just want to see if people like the idea.

Well make up a quick quest-line for it like I did. Maybe we could have people do one set for all the races lol. I would LOVE a quest-line that went into detail about the separate Argonian tribes.

Are these threads discussion for mods?

They won't be adding anything else in at this point.

Mods would be great but also possibly the future games. I am aware of the lateness, if you read my OP at the bottom you will see that I am well aware it is too late to add something like this in. Of course they could have already done something similar. But it is more to see of people like the idea.

Honestly,I just want to be around everyone but if a clan of redguards was started,I woldnt say no (because reall, how many of us are going to choose a person...then Argonian/Kajjit population is going to skyrocket)

Nop. I don't want race based guild. I mean there could be one or two race based group but you can't do it systematically. A group who defends a discriminated race in some neighbourhood would make sense but ten groups each one about one race? Even if a different story it's no good I think...

Sounds cool to me, I'd just like as much conflict between certain guilds as possible. I'd want every guild to have an enemy that they're always trying to screw over.

And each race, you would learn some background and lore of the race...that would be awesome...

This. I'd like my Breton to learn more about his people.

a fun and a good way to further segregate the races in TES lore.

That would be a nice idea that while playing as a dunmer to have random dunmer refugees appear around skyrim every so often, so you would try and escort them to camps and gain faction status within those camps or fame.

I didn't necessarily mean an official guild. More like one of those quickly put together groups that calls themselves a guild though they can't really qualify as one. More like a slightly organized group of people who want to better the lives of their people in the area. Stuff like that. My title is misleading I apologize. Each one gives some insight to how the races functions culturally. Stuff like that, Maybe some unique journals and books describing 'life back at home'. Just some small fleshing out of the races. I would love them to conflict but I feel like the devs would not want to waste there time making it complicated. So I opted for the realistic and simpler route.

It doesn't matter that these groups would be official guilds or not, it's too repetitive. If they have the time to do ten little group with some quest, I think they'd better be doing some with different thematics. The idea of having more insight about each race in skyrim is of course good, but that can be achieved simply by wandering in each community and talking to people, or doing quest which are not "group" related but tell us about their life.
