Small things in the trailer

Post » Sat May 28, 2011 4:27 pm

Trailer was really great, i expected it will be shorter, about 90 seconds.
And after i played DA 2 demo i wait Skyrim even more.
Dvemer ruins look cool, it a shame they didnt show us any centurions in it.

I think it was scripted. The first part of the trailer completely took place in a letterbox perspective, I think the "real" gameplay only started once the main theme kicked in.

First part of the trailer was from the dragons point of view. Wonder how they did that, and most of all wonder if it's something we could mod?

I remember the elves in Morrowind looking very... Alien. (I think it was just the Bosmer females, though). I can't say I really like the look of those two.

To be fair everybody looked like aliens in Morrowind :whistling: .

But yeah in Morrowind the Bosmer females (and I think the males too) had white-less eyeballs like a grey alien. This shot is too far to be sure.

Oh, and it took me until this trailer to notice that one of the center figures in Alduin's Wall is holding a spear like weapon.

Don't see any verified male Bosmer but love the robe looks far better than any robes in Oblivion. :celebration:
However it does not look like it's cloth dynamic on it:(

I think the fighting scene is between an Imperial an a Bosmer. The guy to the right is really small, so unless there are short people in the game I am pretty sure it's a Bosmer.

Is the npc on the left carrying a basket or something?

On the far right at 1:32 (for only like a second) is what may be a Dunmer woman. Notice her color compared to other npcs

She has that same strange brow/nose shape as the Altmer lady.

Hey good eye! I'm glad elves are looking more unique now...and that dunmer lady has a nice figure too :hubbahubba:

Armor on the http://i.imgur.com/CS3Ue.jpg also reminds me of morrowind more than oblivion :D

Horses are ok, sure. http://i.imgur.com/MKm9O.jpg though, oh baby...

That's a Shire horse too, not one of those little ponies from Oblivion.

The epic water wheel in that same shot. Nice to see things progressing.

The bones on the giant look as if they freely move, instead of being stationary on the body.

tiny detail: at 1:20, if you look in slowmotion you can see the guy cutting wood, and the wood piece is split, and it looks very good imo :)

Agreed, and the fog at that pointy mountain makes the shot look amazing. Skyrim looks very nice =)

At first glance, dragons have not got too many weapons in their arsenal. The only thing they can do is to gawk at you with their face, spew some fire and do air attacks.

For Pete's sake, give the poor things claws. :s

You might also notice an archer at the snowy ruins at 1:23. He's in the bottom left of the screen. I think his shield has snow on it!

(sorry for the media controls, anyone know how to disable them when the screen's paused in Quicktime on a Mac?)

Things I've spotted:

- If you pause at 1.09 just after he shouts, you can see rooftops in the mountains.

- Dead NPC ( and a dog/wolf ) at 1.42

- Boat in the distance at 1.20

Anyone seen an NPC with a beard yet?

I think it's a part of the ruins covered in snow, obstructing the view.

That tavern screenshot from before the trailer came out has a bearded tavernkeeper NPC.

that sure looks like a boat. didnt notice myself. there were boats in both morrowind and oblivion too though, but maybe we can actually sail this time. probably not though :)
