Small things you want to see in Skyrim

Nice poll! I fell as if a number of new features will be added that are visual such a bruises taking into account the hud-less interface.

I would really like to see Clocks of Cyrodill Skyrim. I think it is a great detail.

Clocks in Skyrim would be good. The mod for Oblivion added a bit more realism, and would be great in Skyrim!

I would like to see the majority of them except having NPC's steal from you. Maybe if it is done right but how can they do it without losing immersion? Flash a sign that someone just picked your pocket? What could they steal? Could they reall take a large hammer from you without you noticing? If they just took gold I could accept that but I would not want it to randomly happen and then I check my gold and I have lost half of it without knowing.

In Oblivion, on my Xbox, it took me FOREVER to scroll down to things like repair hammers, just because I had so many keys. I really hope for a keyring. I don't see why not, they had one in Fallout 3 and New Vegas.

It actually got to the point were I would just pay a shopkeeper to repair it, because it took too long for me.

I think he means stealing from your camp, house, etc.
But pick-pocketing would probably only yield gold.

Lit windows at night and chimney smoke. This should be in the vanilla game and not have to be modded, like in Oblivion.

Also, darker nights would be nice.

Itching

Some things are a little too realistic. What next, having to go to the bathroom? Cutting your nails? seriously..

One thing that it occurred to me that I'd like would be some way to affect an NPC's aggression and disposition (toward other NPCs) through Speechcraft.

# Female guards - We're in Skyrim, not the USA.
# Guards come in all different species - Go to Sweden and tell me that they have police officers of all different races.
# Being able to place object in you house - Please go play Oblivion. Coming straight to Skyrim from Morrowind is not a good idea.
# NPCs (and you) can marry - What does a marriage even do? How would you even tell who is married? Name one activity that married couples can do that non-married couples can't, other than make decisions while the other is incapacitated (in surgery, etc.). If you can actually name one, then I will be extremely surprised.
# Guard shifts - See #3
# Guard don't take bribes for murder - That is not a bribe. You really should pay attention to what you're doing. A bribe would only keep that one guard from turning you in. Paying the fine for murder means you are not wanted for any crime, thus they cannot arrest you.
# NPCs can commit crimes, blame other etc - See the comment two lines up. #3 if you don't understand.
# Trial for when you murder someone - See #1. We do not have the right to a trial by our peers. Please understand that the United States is a country unlike any other in terms of our personal freedoms.
# Can read of your adventures (and of others) in the Black Horse Courier - Upon completing certain quests, there will be a special edition printed. More of these would be nice.
# Itching - Ehh...

Having the option to place items in your home and have them stay is a big one, one of my favorite features from Morrowind made entirely obsolete by a buggy physics engine...sure it's realistic for placed items to have physics, but it's also realistic to be able to walk through your house without every single spoon, fruit, and book go flying across the room when you walk within a few feet of it.

I dont want anything that triggers sudden NPC death,
such as bandits invading towns, NPC's stealing etc.

Otherwise I love a lot of your ideas :)

edit: what is Scandinavian or Swedish is absolutely beside the point and has nothing to do with anything. Skyrim is not Swedish.
Also they do have a multiracial police force in Sweden, but thats beside the point as I just said.

In fact, the punishment for murder just being a fine makes even more sense in Skyrim, because that was the historical Scandinavian punishment for murder.

i would say a good 30 percent of those are in oblivion and even more than that are already in skyrim because todd howard said he wanted the game to seem more realistic. the guard one is great every single guard i think was an imperial, no other races, that should change.

I personally would like to see idle state animations. Like when i stop moving my character he should do natural things like itching, snoring, looking around, cleaning his weapon...

I want at least some merchants to have more money on them. I hate wanting to sell something thats worth 4000 gold, but the max amount of money I could get would be 1200 gold for it.

I'd like to see romance and marriage options within the game like in the Fable series. Then, depending on where I tell them to live (tiny, unprotected village vs. large city), there's a chance they could be kidnapped or killed when I'm not around. If kidnapped, I could pay the gold demands or try to save my family myself via the random quest system.

Lol, I like the itching option. Like when your idling, your character should just start scratching his ass or picking his nose when he gets tired of waiting :D

Placing item in oblivion was terrible, it was basically impossible to do, without knocking over other items you've placed, or it randomly falling over when you place it. It really needs to be improved upon.

Just a few small things that can make Skyrim seem better/more realistic... some ideas are not that good though, I admit.

About the only thing I need at this point is a small pre-order bonus to be cryogenically frozen till November. 10 months is waaaaay too long for me to wait to get this game. :D

"Just a few"?

Yes to all. :celebration: Those are excellent features and some such as puddles of water and snow prints depend on technology and future hardware generations but most sadly depend on time constraints. We need to remember that Bethesda's games are already the largest on the market excluding MMOs, there's no comparison really, games that give an amazing value per buck, and it's not realistic to expect more and more. There's not a big chance that any company will ever make such a detailed and complex "Medieval fantasy RPG simulator" that we all dream of. That's not a reason for us to stop dreaming and sugessting features of course! :celebration:
