Edit: Now that I've beaten Wraith to the punch...

Short video detailing Brink basics...nothing really new, shows how landmines look, and operatives spot these mines by zoom in on these mines with iron sights. Goes over the HUD...also shows a challenge where it looks like you do a bot escort mission by yourself.

Should have posted it before watching oh well. This looks it will be a new mini series to warm us up for Brink so awesome.

I got halfway through before I realized I had the small opportunity to beat you...anyways

Again, nothing really new. Spells out the game basics, so it should be a good introductory video for newcomers.

Edit: It is a good introductory video because, according to badman, this SMART series will be found in-game as a sort of video tutorial. Link for the disbelievers.

Instead of saying "New Brink vid" in your sig, maybe it should say "Brink tutorial vid" or "The Basics of Brink" or something like that - just a thought.

I would but always want to keep the newest Brink vid available there.

I think its neat now that we have both supply and health command posts. I head them mentioning health command posts in the last video, but now we have confirmation of supply command posts.

No supply posts have been around for awhile. Originally there were damage CP's but those were dropped.

Huh, never actually saw them in a video, just saw buffed supply meters with 5 pips.

Interesting stuff for me:
  • The Drognav is insanely accurate from the hip (we actually knew that, but now we could see the reticule as well).
  • Health will regenerate, if you can escape danger. For examble by hiding behind very thin and very transparent glass.
  • Resistance get a Ski-Mask!
  • Listening to the tutorial will make you listen to a nice voice.

Again, nothing really new. Spells out the game basics, so it should be a good introductory video for newcomers.

Well, it's even better basic information than the Brink Compendium. If there is one question you can still have after this video, it probably is: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0YxvZBqfi0g

Good amount of health recharge. Not sure if that's sans-abilities or a skill - either way it's nice.

Anyone else feel that this video was shot on PC?

It has no console button indicators as it has previously, or if they were using a controller on PC.

You simply see the Ark symbol pop up over all action icons. My logic leads to that being kb+mouse; maybe it's just a new stylized approach.

Thoughts?

The menu buttons are also completely blank, with no label at all other than the blue and white Ark symbol. It's most likely just a stylized approach just for the video.

On SD forums people have said it's probably to avoid it looking console-specific, since that video's going to be in the game.

Seems like a good reason to me.

Yeah, and on my third watch through .. the way the reticule is moving is just too stiff to be kb+mouse.

I was momentarily excited.. oh well.

It also repeatedly mentions "press up" "press left" -- that only really makes sense on a console using a controller with a d-pad.
