A smart warrior

For my next playthrough, I want to create a Intellegent/ chrismatic character who uses smarts and creativity to survive the wasteland. So probably my tag skills will be Speech, Science and Repair or Medicine?

I don't know quite which weapon is realistic and will have to base strength of that.

Thinking of collecting Pre war books, plant samples, and rare weapons and technology to better understand stuff.

This character will be good oriented.

So, I guess I need: Which weapons, skills to survive, creative way of playing (I always seem to sneak and stealth kill ), should I throw in Survival? Any other roleplaying ideas

Probaby should either have Raul or Veronica as a companion and ED-E Primary weapon skill would be energy weapons, though you will probably rely on your companion more. I'd tag Speech, Science and Repair.

Sounds similar to my character: S 6 P 4 E 6 C 7 I 7 A 5 L 5 Trait: Four Eyes Tag skills: Medicine, Science, Survival Uses unarmed / melee (through personal choice not character rules - EW would work too), collects pre war books and currently has Veronica and ED-E as companions. Mine is also very peaceful and diplomatic and hasn't killed any people yet.

The idea sounds like a character similar to MacGyver (80s TV character who could make a bomb out of a coin, 2 paper clips and a stick!), using intelligence and ingenuity to resolve problems.

Wait.. hasn't killed yet?! You mean you can avoid killing in Goodsprings and Nipton? Or did you just skip quests along the way?

I skipped the Powder Gangers quest in Goodsprings, Primm was tricky, involved some use of Stealth Boys in the Bison Steve hotel, and leading convicts towards the NCR camp. There's no need to kill any people in Nipton unless you want to fight 5 Legion soldiers by yourself. I did shoot the crucified Powder Gangers to spare them the torture, which the game recorded as a kill (if that counts).

Followers help though ( if they choose to kill people I can't stop them) and I still kill animals, super mutants, and ghouls, it's just a rule I've started off with for my courier. Tried to base him on me or as close as possible - after all in real life I'd defend myself but would try to avoid deliberately killing someone. Previously in New Vegas I've knocked out people with boxing gloves and then ran for it.

I'm sure I'll end up having to kill someone but yes, in general I'll try to dodge enemies and not take on quests that involve killing.
