Does anyone else think, with the Hobbit movies coming out, the dragons in Skyrim and Bethesda's famous tendency to include easter eggs and references in their games we might see Smaug appear in a dungeon in Skyrim, guarding his treasure. Maybe there could be a difficult to find ring of invisibility buried somewhere in the treasure... What do you think?

That would freaking awesome. I love the Lord of the Rings and The Hobbit, so this would be amazing. Although, I wouldn't even pick up the ring I would be so terrified, unless my chracter was Tom Bombadil of course.

I mentioned this yesterday in an easter egg thread and now I've found that there are more who share this idea! This is great, It must be implemented!
I never thought about the ring though, I would just be happy enough to have a dragon named Smaug in there!

Good idea, but we have no idea right now how smaug will look in the movie, which would mean the dragon would have to be labelled "smaug" to avoid confusion.

Given that Todd Howard has said before that he's a huge fan of LOTR (and by extension, I imagine, The Hobbit), it seems likely. Maybe a storybook outlining how twelve Dwemer, with the help of a wizard, killed a dragon that had forced them from their kingdom.

I wouldn't like something from LOTR in the TES world... and there would be some copyright issues aswell... Highly doubtful
