Smithing Materials at the Forge

Post » Wed Dec 18, 2013 11:05 am

What is it that controls the crafting materials that appear at the forge for weapons and armour?

EG, I made some recipes etc for making silver weapons, but there is no entry for Silver at the forge. So I had to give them the WeapMaterialSteel keyword as well so they appear under STEEL.

Cheers!

In the vanilla game, silver would be under 'jewellery'. Don't think there are any forgeable silver weapons normally.

Yes, but the keyword is WeapMaterialSilver, while silver rings etc are ARMO forms, not WEAP forms and have keywords like ArmorJewelry, ClothingRing and VendorItemJewelry.

And the same thing happens with MITHRIL - I have to have it under ELVEN by having two keywords in the items.

But Steel weapons have the keyword WeapMaterialSteel, and they appear under Steel. So what I am getting at, is where is the word STEEL stored as a category of weapons and armour that can be made at the forge?

It's just I noticed other Smithing mods had Ancient Nordic and all sorts of non-Vanilla materials and wondered how they did it.

EG, I made a mod for Smithing weapons from an alloy made from Death Hound Collars, and I'd prefer them to appear under their own entry of DEATH HOUND. It would save on clutter in the STEEL menu.

Cheers!
