Smithing skill 100, but game says I don't have enough skill

Post » Fri Mar 29, 2013 2:02 am

So I have a smithing skill level of 100 and I sat on the grinding wheel to craft/improve something - within my perk set - and I got the message: "You ain't got enough skills to craft this item"! I have every perc in the skill tree except for Glass Armors and Weapons and I was working on an Ebony item.

What gives?

Was the item enchanted?

Do you also have the Arcane Smithing perk?

Is the weapon already improved to Legendary?

I had that problem as well, just use a potion to raise your smithing skill (blacksmiths potion i think) and it should work

Ahhhhhhhhhhh! Now I feel like a [censored]! I didn't even think of these factors. I have weapons all the way to legendary, many are enchanted, I'm assuming the Arcane Smithing perk is under the Enchant tree? Man you two guys are double teaming today....lol. jk

Arcane Smithing is in the center of the Smithing tree. Directly above Steel.

Arcane Smithing perk is under the Enchant tree?
No its under the smithing tree.

Also there is no cap on how far you can improve weapons and armor. So don't expect them to disappear from the grid stone or workbench. Its always possible to stack on more fortify smithing effects.
