Snakes in Skyrim would be fun

Post » Sat Nov 14, 2009 3:52 am

Dont you think that would be fun? i mean it's defiantly not much but i read some guy's comment on having snake pits and i thought that would be really fun. Probably not challenging since it would only take 1 chop and the snake would die but still. Also having a snake as a pet would be fun to.

*UPDATE* Snakes (serpents) have been confirmed!

IMO, snakes don't fit the world of Skyrim.

Maybe if it was in Black Marsh or Elsweyr.

I see that as a pain in the *** to the gameplay.
You would be running happily around a camp when *PAWN* you get bitten by a filthy snake.
It sounds just like those damn Cliff Racers, but on the ground.

No thank you!

There are ([deciduous/ fall] forest; marsh) areas in skyrim aren't there?

Sure, why not. A giant snake tunnel at the bottom of a cave.

I wouldnt mind snakes in the game, just not in the mountains/wherever there is snow. Keep them in the forests.

If they are in I want to see the Samuel L Jackson quote from Snakes On A Plane but replace the F word with Fetcher.

Snakes don't live in cold areas generally.

Snakes live in Canada, Russia, Norway, Denmark and a bunch of other cold countries. Heck, Norway and Denmark have a poisonous viper. Not to mention all of Skyrim isn't cold.

I don't think you would be able to have snakes in a game realistically without having them be major annoyances. Once you get bit your dead pretty much, they wouldn't be that great to fight either. If you see it you win and if you don't you die.

Not as an enemy, just something you happen to see slithering across the ground now and then, throw a fireball at, and eat (yummy)

I'm already going to have to deal with giant spiders, I don't think I could take snakes.

Personally I'd love to see some giant snakes, would fit better in Skyrim than the little things, and could be awesome to fight.

Only if they were big enough to actually hit.. none of that shooting at the ground with your bow 50 times while spinning in circles like a madman before you nail it.

putting in argonians is already cutting it close as far as cold blooded organisms at least argonians are intelligent enough to dress warmly or start a campfire not to mention they got more body mass than a spindly little snake meaning skyrims a bit to harsh for snakes even the warmer parts of skyrim would still probably be to cold

No for two reasons:

1. They don't exactly fit the setting, they would fit better into a marsh or rainforest. (Yes I know, those arent the ONLY biomes that contain snakes)
2. I can't see snakes being easy to do without them looking stupid, and killing some immersion in the game.

My thoughts immediately went to the giant snake scene in Conan the Barbarian. Definitely yes (and add more usefulness to cure poison spells or potions). Dragons are in it already anyway (and giant spiders) so snakes seem fitting to me.
