SNEAK MULTIPLIER BUG

Post » Fri Feb 12, 2016 6:43 am

Has anyone else encountered the sneak multiplier bug?

You can get 5.4, 5.9 or 6.3 depending on which order you pick the perks!

I have spent tens of hours creating an Agent 47 build only to find out my sneak multiplier (5.4) is the lowest you can possibly get.

After spending hours plowing through the game with only a tux and a deliverer to find this out is absolutely gutting - do I start again? I'm 50 hours in!

And because I am console I can't respec in the correct order.

I hope Bethesda fix this bug asap.

I have left direct feedback to Bethesda and if anyone else has this issue I urge you to do the same.

I would like to hear from you all and what you think.

Cheers Guys

There is a post somewhere on this forum detailing how to get the highest multipliers and what order to take the perks.

It's definitely very [censored] though.

Thanks Jumper, it's too late for that though I already have them all. Without a patch I would have to start all over again to get the max multiplier

i think the game would be better off if sneak damage multiplier would be gone and weapon damage would be higher

Why? Some of the perks you get and companion perks increase sneak multipliers it would essentially break the whole point of stealth characters.

Bug reports belong in the http://www.gamesas.com/forum/316-fallout-4-hardware-software-issues/ section for Fallout 4.

Bethesda's QA may occasionally read through the General Discussion section for errant bug reports us moderators have missed, but for obvious reasons those bugs posted in the proper section where the proper people will be looking for them are going to get more attention than threads posted in General Discussion.

Normally I move these threads to the correct section, but as you have not stated what platform you are playing on, I don't know where to put it. If you want to post in this thread or PM me, I can get it moved to the correct area where it's more likely to be seen by those who'd be able to do something about it.

Sneak multi. is extremely OP in Beths recent titles. I love sneaky-type characters but I always have to impose restrictions on myself, even on Survival.

I actually just recently had to reorder mine because I realized I wasn't getting the biggest multiplier. You have to get Ninja, then Clock and Dagger, then Mister Sandman. Other combinations may work too, but that's what worked for me. I'm on PC, so I was able to reorder them. Console people are kind of just out of luck unfortunately. I actually broke it down and did the math and how the multiplier works out here though (I also listed the console commands and IDs for anyone interested) - http://www.gamesas.com/topic/1588876-what-is-the-highest-possible-sneak-attack-multiplier/

Glitches like this aren't surprising, especially with the nature of the perks. Simply put, Ninja only adds on to your base damage. Cloak and Dagger will add onto either the base damage, or the base damage+Ninja, and Mister Sandman will put a multiplier on either the base damage, or the base damage+Ninja, or the base damage+Ninja+C&D.
