Sneak is overpowered, but...

Sneaking is really powerful if you have all the perks and wear muffled boots/light armor.

Sneaking in heavy armor works well after getting perks Conditioning (Heavy Armor 70) and Muffled Movement (Sneak 30) without any enchantments.

The main problem with sneak is that the AI has less short term memory than a goldfish. Is they would actually try to search for you a bit better after you hit one, it could be justified.

I am one- and two-shotting foes that I get the drop on, even at level 4. The perks and playstyle seem to make a lot of difference. I can easily see how sneak and archery will get insanely good at higher levels.

level 30 bosmer archer. archery/sneak above 80 and light armour above 50. legendary glass bow. if i see them first giants die in 2 shots. mammoths in 3. in a big room with lots of hostiles i can usually take out the higher level (ie most dangerous) target and a few of his buddies before i'm spotted. thinking of picking up some heavy armour and a greatsword and levelling those without the backup of perks just to mix things up a bit

I think sneaking is a bit OP, before you use muffling. After that, it is way over powered.

In one of his loot exchanges for better gear, my sneaky Nord found a Dwemer "boot of muffling", and bought it to test is muffling worked with heavy Dwemer armor.

After that I could back-stab almost anything out there, and could one-stab kill giants, and two-stab kill mammuts.

Dragons are trickier, because I can not easily find them perched on the ground, at a reachable place, but I can approach most of normal targets from front side, in not so dim places, and kill them with one stab with an non-enchanted (superior) elven dagger.
