Sneak Perk in hardcoe Mode - Highlight Traps?

Post » Fri Mar 11, 2016 5:24 am

Hello boys and girls!

?

I really like to play my games with the most challenging possibilities, and today when I was playing Fallout 4 I had an idea to "Sneak Perk" become more challenging.

When we reach the third level on Sneak, we can avoid the traps and landmines without have to worry about nothing, our character wouldn't trigger any trap. I think that will be much more fun if this perk only highlights the traps and mines (like the Scrapper's perk do with junk), so we can disable it manually.

What's your opinion?

Personally I never take the sneak perks in FO:4 because of that "avoid all traps" part.

Where is the fun in the game when you simply sprint of all land mines and trip wires? Simply highlighting them, as you suggest, would be pretty good.

If you are really not paying attention then you may still step on them.

Oh, I totally didn`t see this post before I posted mine. lol

Yeah, I feel like nullifying all traps make the game really dull too.

...I like sneaking but I feel it`s unfair enemy traps are not working.

They clearly set those traps to stop someone sneaking on them. lol

Actually I like the perk. It becomes redundant and annoying have to look at your feet every metre or so. I always thought by the time you get sneak level 3 you're already an expert scout/assassin so that you dont really step on them anymore. At least that's what I think is the thought behind that level of perk.

I don't see a difference really, instead of simply walking over them you disarm them and continue on your merry way, highlighting them doesn't bring any extra challenge. No different to a high endurance build being able to just walk over them and eat the damage or a high perception build being able to spot them from Narnia.

Considering you get a small amount of XP and some loot for disarming a trap, I think it's actually more convenient to have them highlighted than disabled altogether, where you can easily miss tripwires, et al, that blend into the scenery.

It`s not the traps that you can find by activating VATS that kills you..

it`s usually the ones that`s placed right around the corner that does kill you. lol

which is why the sneak perk is so good.

Should be a stand-alone perk of sorts instead, reducing damage the more you invest, but never nullify it completely, and the last investment could be the highlighting part. They could place it instead of Moving Target (dunno who would invest in that perk anyways) under agility.
