This is my first attempt at making character for sneaking around but I must be doing something wrong because I always am being detected so easily. I have 100 sneak, 6 ability, 5 luck, silent running perk and the Chinese stealth suit. I don’t turn on my pipboy light but I’m still always being detected, any advice?

What are you being detected by? Are you in shadows or out in the open? Have you initiated combat while you are sneaking?

Are you Detected or are you being told to be Cautious? The first means they have seen you, the second means they are looking for something, but have not found it (you) yet.

Super mutants and ghouls are detecting me. Recently I'm in our lady of hope hospital and it is shadowy. I haven't initiated combat. They are detecting me.

At 100 sneak, you can crouch next to someone in broad daylight.... Are you sure?

Yes that is what I don't understand from what I read I should only be detected if I bump into someone.

Stay in the shadows... At Caution... I back away slowly, or at least, reverse what I was just doing to bring me into the CAUTION.
