Sneaking in Battlespire

Post » Wed Sep 01, 2010 2:15 pm

Hello community,

I recently finished Battlespire and now I wanna try a new hero like the nightblade. I thought a lot, chose the skills and started. I also took stealth because, well, stealth is important for a nightblade but somehow it doesnt work out as planned. While creating the character I pushed the stealthskill up to 60 and trained it now to 65 but the monsters always see me! I turned off the Lantern and wandered through the shadows but even a [censored] retarded scamp sees me! Has anyone of you ever tried a stealthcharacter in Battlespire and succeeded? I mean sneaking must be possible somehow! If nothing works, i gonna search for stealth buffing items so that I have like 150 in stealth.

I've never used stealth, nor magic, nor range in Battlespire. I have this thing where the game is too hard if I try to be original.

I'd suggest looking at your clothing, maybe boots are making you louder? I dunno, Never attempted it.

Well I can't imagine that u beated the game without magic! I really need the healing spell and spell reflection, I wouldve died without them.

With my nightblade I really tried to be original. He cant wear any armor and he has critical weakness to every element. He can also just use short blades and no other weapon. You can imagine that I had lots of points to spend with these disadvantages ;)
So I pushed AGI to 70, Luck to 60, INT to 60 and Willpower to 65. I also increased stealth to 60 and some other skills like restauration and destruction to 50. With this high agility and luck the enemy misses all the time and I he hits me I still can heal myself. I got spell absorb and regenerate spellpoints as advantages and it works out quite nice. Sadly my [censored] stealth doesnt work as planned, with sneaking and backstabbing I would be godlike :(

Well, I have to ask the obligatory "you are actually in stealth mode, right?"
I only ask because you didn't mention it, and it's possible you forgot it was there. ;)

How does battling spellslingers work out with all those critical weaknesses? Dremora tend to fireball me half to death as it is; I can't imagine what they do to you!

I didnt forget the stealth mode ;)

Well I have spell absorb and a high willpower as well as high luck. Hence I absorb almost every spell and if they hit I still can heal myself with the mana I gain by absorbing their attacks. I never get in serious trouble, its almost easier as it was with my previous character. Anyway, sneaking doesnt work... it would make extremely much fun with backstabbing. First I would plant some delayed dmg mines and afterwards I would sneak behind the enemy, backstab him and let him die in my mines. Now I start thinking about changing backstab and stealth to archery and critical strike. Damn, I already beated the first level with my hero, I dont have the nerves to do it a third time :(
