Thought this might be a cool build to try out. Basically a stealth character that relies on magic instead of weapons. I know this character probably wouldn't dominate, but might be a fun challenge.
The points in lockpicking could be moved, I just thought the Treasure Hunter perk might be cool for RPing. What do you guys think?

I do both magic and sneaking, but I don't think you could do both at the same time. Most of my spells (mostly fire) are loud and draw attention.

There's a perk in one of the other trees that lets you cast silently. I've done this before. Fun advice: Cast a rune on a wall near enemies, then shoot it with an arrow. Enemies investigate arrows that hit walls as they hear a "sound". So they walk right to the glyph before it explodes.

I play a sneaky bow carrying mage. Lots of fun. I sneak in..soften them up with bow. After there is only one enemy that has a few hit points left, I boldly stride forward and lets loose with a dual cast fire spell. Very satisfying when they fly backwards in flames..:)

People have many different ways to play the game. There is no right or wrong way....as long as the game is fun..:)

Yea I've got the perk that makes spells silent worked into the build. That glyph strategy seems pretty funny, will have to give it a shot.

For RP anything works, but destruction plus sneak seems a bit silly to me - if you can't sneak attack with it and you don't want to get close to the enemy anyway (just kill them from a distance) so why bother.

I had another idea: illusion + sneak mage (without invisibilty which is lame) who doesn't kill anything unless absolutely has to. Maybe I'd get bored too soon though. =)

I play an assasin mage regularly. He uses light armor, relies heavily on his sneak skill, bolstered by his magical talents. This works pretty well, because what he can't sneak attack, he can lay waste to with destruction magic. Can't always get out of a situation with stealth alone, sometimes requires a Heavier hand.
