You do know that headshots are no OHK's? Also there is no sniper class. I would like to see more content though.

The "sniper rifles" in Brink, look and sound like sniper rifles, but behave differently. They are actually called "short rifles" in Brink. Here are some comments dev's made on "sniper rifles."

- There isn’t a big emphasis on sniping in this game. There will be weapons with scopes and rifles that do more damage and have a slower reload, but the whole sniper alley thing just isn't enough fun for enough players. They said they wanted to create an ‘Intimate Shooting Experience.’ This is a big reason why they decided to have 8v8, and not something more large scale. This is also why there aren’t any usable vehicles in the game.

“There won’t be any snipers poppin’ headshots from 2 miles down the road.”
“When you and I are killing each other... I can see the whites of your eyes.”

“It’s really important to do that for a bunch of reasons, One…our characters look ****ing awesome! We don’t want them to be little 3 pixel tall guys on the screen. Plus, you will put all this work into the customization of your character, so you want your guy to be seen, as your mowing your enemy down…But as well, we just want to have a level of intensity, where it’s very, very fast, and you don’t have to go very far before you’re right up against the enemy.”

- While we have guns that look like a sniper rifle and sound like a sniper rifle and are scoped like a sniper rifle, we're not a game that has sniper rifle style "go hide on a hill in the bushes and wipe out every enemy you see with one shot kills", so they're nowhere near as powerful as one you'd find in other games, for instance. So to use them effectively, you've either got to favor the skinny guys (who have fewer than average hitpoints), or think of sniping more as a 'softening the enemy up' so that your other teammates can finish them off...

i think they're on right track with the sniping in this game, i'm a huge quickscoper, but i think the idea of the sniper as a "support class" is dying out.. since people either camp alone in bushes or run solo quickscoping (i know i do).. props to the devs..

I like this aswell. Sniper classes are my least played class in any FPS game; not because i cant snipe, but because i cant stand just sitting in some bush and not contributing to the teameffort.

I'm not a fan of sniping either have played many FPS were my team will take out everyone on the other team or vise verse and go to arm or plant on an objective only to get sniped because they had one player as backup picking off anyone off trying to arm which gives the rest the team enough time to spawn in and get back there to defend. Snipers can be a valuable asset to a team it just depends on how they are implimented into the game and what abilities ect they have available to them. Ex. Killzone2 snipers could spot and mark enemies so they would show up on friendlies mini maps. So I mean they could make them more team friendly in Brink by giving them certain abilities to contribute or help the team out besides just there ability to pick people off trying to arm something or picking off targets the team cannot get to. I would be really interesting if they did make a recon class in Brink because of the abilities ect they could make for them. Anyways my main point was though there are alot of people who try and snipe that dont contribute to the team there are players who are good at that skill set and can help the team just like any other class.

i used to snipe alot until everybody started quickscoping. i blame mw2 for that. now its in almost every game that has a sniper class and it annoys the crap out of me

Quickscoping was around long before MW2.

Me too, but I also enjoy sniping. I'm somewhat disappointed about how they aren't putting much emphasis on it, though.

A question. Why should every FPS but an emphasize on sniping?

I don't think every FPS should put an emphasis on it. I just enjoy sniping and would like emphasis. But I still don't mind when a game - like Brink - doesn't put emphasis on it. I'm not going to complain or anything. I'll just be a bit disappointed. That's all.

try looking for games that do put an emphasis on it, instead of trying to get others to put an emphasis on it.
try sniper ghost warrior for instance

omg your a horrible person!

lol i kid... anyway

Sniping, imo, unless is a MAJOR part of a game, should never be emphasized. Its one of the easily most over powerable features in a game. BF2142, last i played, got it right. you didnt have a dot to line up on your scope, so you were left to "eyeball" where your lead had to be. I never had the opportunity to get it right since i didnt understand the mechanic, and even when i did near the end it was still VERY difficult... which is exactly how it should be.

I knew a few skilled players who would wreck people with sniper rifles, and those were far and few in between, which is how it should be. Any one can grab an assault rifle, theyre easy, but you also put your self on the line. If your skilled, you can utilize those skills in other forms of combat that make you more deadly. People always [censored]ed and argued how i was a noob for using the carbine on my recon, and, because i knew myself, my style, and how to play it, those people are busy pushin up daisies...
And that is how it always should be...

i know there are a lot of snipers on mw2, either using akimbo g18 or akimbo desert eagle(akimbo=dual-wield, don't look at me i didn't pick the name). or quick scoping their way across the map, while, most of the time, not being able to shoot someone at a long range.
ofcourse there are snipers who do it at long ranges, but strangely enough, those are most often the snipers who don't have much experience sniping.

annoys the heck out of me when i see a sniper never using his sniper rifle, or keeps 1hitting me with it before i can shoot 3bullets with my AR

This is extremely unfortunate, and most likely stems from the fact that its easier to just use cheap underhanded, experience ruining techniques such as quick scoping... When doing it wrong is mroe effective then doing it right... theres a problem.

I'm not trying to get others to put emphasis on it. I simply said that I am a LITTLE dissappointed that they aren't putting much emphasis on it. Geez, so quick to accuse.

people who are a "little" disappointed at something, usually don't make multiple posts about it, and/or try to defend their points.

Uh, I think you're just being a Console Nazi here.

Quickscoping is no easy feat, even with Modern Warfare 2's Sleight of Hand Pro. Therefore it is not cheap. I don't quicksope, but if you can't see that it takes skill and practice, you either aren't looking at it, haven't tried it, or can't do it.

What is cheap, underhanded, and experience-ruining are screeching twelve year old kids who use sniper rifles as an excuse to camp. Camping like a jerk is not sniping correctly. Camping is the Nazism of FPS games, there is no excuse to it, any alternative is better.

sniper running around the map, that's nooby, picking a good spot to snipe people is sniping...

and i actually tried quick-scoping, it isn't very easy. but still it's no fun being quick-scoped.
i prefer being shot from a long distance by a sniper rifle, than being shot with it from up close by people who don't want to use more than 1 bullet.

oh, and what's even worse is those snipers that use low recoil semi-automatic sniper rifles..
