Sniper rifle vs SMG

Post » Fri May 13, 2011 4:38 pm

Spray and pray, baby. (Pro-tip: The guy you're shooting at is supposed to be doing the praying, not you.)

I'd rather have a high rate of fire and relatively shorter reload times over higher damage and greater range, especially considering the action in Brink so far looks close to midrange the majority of the time. There's a lot of cover and a lot of running around to be done in Brink; I think people are overestimating the open environments of Brink.

Here's another thought: if 70+% of players plan to run stealthy Light characters, they aren't going to be found in the open, but in the flanking small side halls and such. Unless you're really good on the no-scope, I'd rather have the more versatile SMG. (That's why it's going to be my Medium's secondary to the shotgun.)

Well, I'm not really the spraying type, I prefer the most accurate SMGs over higher fire rates though ;)

Of course. I'll be looking for a decent balance; pending more information on the weapons, I'm leaning towards the Galactic myself.

I prefer the obscure "Why the f*** does he have THAT!?" means of home defense.

The truth is, the last person people want to mess with is a lunatic. Convince someone you're insane, they WILL leave you alone.

For simple defense against a home invasion, any old 12 gauge will be fine. Go down to Walmart and pick up a pump action for 200 bucks. Buy a case of birdshot shells and a case of buckshot shells. Load the tube with buckshot, except for the last two shells you put in. Make those birdshot. These will be brought into the receiver first when you [censored] it. This way, if someone breaks in, You have two less-leathal shells to simply subdue them rather than kill them. If you cannot achieve compliance after that, you let them know you mean business with the buckshot.

Also, do yourself a favor and take the hunter's safety training course at your local rod and gun club, and practice at the range at least once a month.

Edit: How could they censor a weapons term on a site devoted to a game about weapons :|

You know Swan drop is much better and anyway .45 colt is far more effective than a shotgun. thats why they call them body stopers. and if you use Dumb Dumb rounds you will put big holes in soft targets.

I still say a morning star is more intimidating than a pistol.

Too unwieldy, a desperate thief can convince himself that he could dodge the first swing and shoot you before the second.

Again, you gotta play the psychotic role with it, and that's a lot of metal to move around and hold like a looney. With the flail, you can spin it around playfully with your head tilted and your tongue out. Large swords take a bit of teeth-gritting to get moving.

Again again, I'll have a ninja sword and a Smith & Wesson 686. Not only is this an unexpected combination, it's pretty obvious that I could distract with one while setting up to kill with the other. Throw the sword at their right shoulder, they dodge to their left and move right in front of my 686. BLAM! Tums ain't gonna help your tummy ache this time.

In true platypus fashion.

Plah-tay-pooz.

I'm a platypus.

I'm random and stupid with no intention to succeed, therefore I pull off crazy sh** you think isn't gonna happen.

Then I make some nachos and go back to Desperate Housewives. (Tessy is such a hoe.)

That show svcks. Also, do you think people should use an SMG or Sniper rifle to eliminate that show? See what I did there?

Way to be biased with our shooters, Devil.

Can we have the sniper wound DH, and see if any other wretches of daytime TV attempt to come to it's aid so we can finish them off, too? I figure it's worth a try.

The only way to kill someone from a distance is to call down a meteor shower.
