Snipers vrs scar

assault rifles, felline need a nerf the damage is lololol. ;P

I don't know why people are complaining about the snipers in this game trippy seems to be the only one making any sense, I use the dsg and it's an ohko to cloaked units, 2 to power and 3 to armour obviously it's ohko for a headshot no matter what mode. I really don't see why people are having problems vs scar users I've never lost a gun fight to a scar user long range and I probably am even medium range and close range they have a large advantage.

On a further note I have my sniper silenced. Which Is one advantage scar users don't have.

I was starting to think I was fighting a losing battle here until this post.

The Gauss has one clear advantage then, two shots to take out armor. Yes some times it's three but that is purely lag. I have tested it multiple times as host and it was two shots every time unless to the head of course. I've read people saying the DSG takes out armor in two, I've yet to see this or achieve it myself. It's just the hosting that needs fixing, dedicated servers would fix most of the complaints I am seeing posted.

Oh and I noticed last night, I recorded a 38 killstreak with the Gauss and I'm pretty average in terms of skill, so it can't be that bad.

Like I said, I'm playing on the pc, with 30 ping to the server. It's not lag that is making it take 3+ hits to kill someone -not- in armor mode. I really don't understand why it's hard to understand. The guns damage is 115. Even if we take the fact that it's supposed to ignore armor out of the equation, it should not take more than 2 hits to kill someone anywhere on their body because snipers don't have damage drop off like all other guns do. But then the fact that it's supposed to ignore armor, making that irrelevant anyways..

Call it bad hit detection if you want but what it comes down to is that It's broken. End of story. I don't want it to be OP I just want it to work consistently.

Who told you it does 115 damage? I assume you got that from Kirson's guide? While his charts are great and informative, I never trust his accuracy with damage output. Kirson claims it ignores armor, it doesn't, nor does the DSG-1 for that matter, they might have prior to patching but the description for Gauss rounds given by the game itself states they instantly drain armor, not ignore it. The third shot is unexplainable, I've had no problems when hosting or on a three bar connection so maybe it's something relevent to the PC version, possibly caused by packet loss or something along those lines?

To clarify the guass is weak not because of lag but because crytek made it like that if you play any game pro you will see its 1 shot kill

It's suppose to drain your energy and with the damage it has it should be really really close to a one hit kill since the dsg1 takes 2 hits with a noticable damage deficit. Oh and when your host of course your guns are going to work better than everyone elses which is also BS. That gaus sniper is broken and needs work. Alot of people are have the same problem. If there's more people agreeing with me then there has to be something wrong with it. I've even asked everybody I play with and they say that it sux. So there's something going on with it.
