It's not even really a sniper in my book. There's hardly even a zoom.

I find sniping without VATS to be a lot more accurate

I hate how theres that zone somewhere between you and the mob, where even if your aimer is aiming directly at the person, and the bullet clearly travels straight to said person, the bullet magically disappears in mid-air and the enemy is alerted of your presence.

I prefer sniping especially without VATS to be honest and although I have noticed this weird sort of dissappearing bullet occurance where it just seems to pass through without causing harm but definatly causing alarm, I usually plan for these and the approach to my sniping position is usually guarded by a hidden follower waiting to flank the enemy or its strewn with mines of course that only works outdoors but in doors mines are much much more effective. The only gripe I have with sniping is that the .44 scoped is much more accurate than the sniper rifle.

No more zoom than a hunting rifle.
