So, snow covers everything

Do you think snow covers NPCs as well? and even the player?

I doubt it, but it would be cool to have a little dusting on your shoulders and helm/head

No.

They said snow is dynamic, why shouldn't it cover everyone and everything?

I guessing it'll be a light covering of snow,as opposed to be buried in the stuff....

The snow mechanic is one of the biggest questions left unanswered thus far. I think we'll learn/see a lot more about it at E3.

One thing I wonder more about the snow is: Will we walk on snow or walk in snow?

In other words, will snow just be this flat thing that you walk on? Or will snow be deep (or have the illusion of being deep) that you can walk in/through?

It'd be so cool to leave a body on a mountainside and to later find it with some parts under snow.

I am guessing if you stand still in a snow storm it should cover you head and shoulders.

That would be soooooooo cool.

You can lay in wait crouched and covered in snow for passing travellers to rob

Yeah I really hope it does, but I'm not sure it will... Supposedly if it is dynamic then it perhaps should if you stand still for a while, but since most of the time you'll be running / walking it'd probs just come off fairly quick... But anyway I'm gonna stand in one spot for a while and just test it, a few methods that I'd try would be that I just stand there (as said before), and wait in one place for a few hours (with the button (wait function (set it to wait for, I dunno, 3 hours (in game))))... That's probs all I'd try :D

Gads, poor Bethesda....

They'd be in trouble from if snow did accumulate, because folks would complain about where it'd accumulate, how much, the effects of fur and clothing, ammount of exertion, etc.

They'd be in trouble if it didn't accumulate because that's not how it works in real life either

Me?
I don't really care...well, as long as it doesn't cover a toilet seat ;)

Bethesda have stated that the snow on the ground is not just there. But its Deep... No idea how this is gonna be done tough...

Because as much as game's feature much real effects,it's limited, and I don't think we'll be gettimg four feet of snow covering the ground etc..

Hopefully comparable to Uncharted 2 at the very least. With snow being a big focus I can't see how it wouldn't be fully developed as much as they can with the engine.

This would be great. In Just Cause 2 if you run around in a snowy area, your guys gets snowy, then if you go into warmer climate, it fades off. It adds just a touch of immersion but it's a very nice touch!

Yeah I hope so too, seeing how there's so much snow in Skyrim...
Would be pretty awesome to wade through snow :D

Yes it would. I love me some lush forests, but i'm also very much looking forward to the snowy regions as well.

That's a collision problem, it's possible snow don't collide but only lands, and still my question remains.

I think snow will be flat, just a paint layer. In the trailer the character's steps sound like running on concrete.

Why would snow cover npc's in real life where I live it melts on impact on clothes. If your saying its a different world that worka both ways. Snow in nirn might never build.

But then again I could be wrong

On twitter they tweeted its not just a flat shader.

OXM UK says that snowfall is dynamic. Instead of a texture with a bit of white added, landscapes realistically get dusted with snow landing in appropiate nooks and crannies.

Seems it will be quite realistic.
