Back around 2005-2006, Ted Peterson contributed to Loranna's Lore RP during a quest that took the group to Skyrim. He wrote of white whales that, if I remember right, did fly though they also swam down Mount Hrothgar like porpoises, plunging into the snow and leaping out again as they travelled.

well, TES snow whales actually sprout pure happiness out of their blowholes and they can speak
example dialog:

"Holy crap," one said, "I have never seen something this dumb." And thus the snow whales crooned to each another in their way, and some, driven to pity, spat great gales of joy at the dirtbirds to remove their dirge.

I would love to see snow whales in Skyrim. That, and the addition of harpoons! And maybe angry mobs of hippy-nords that would protest my relentless destruction of the snow whale species.

oh, I loved that part
however, seeing as whales are devoid from tamriel (to my knowledge) except those of the aerial persuasion, I would expect a snow whale to be something other than our average whale
maybe a lot of air bladders or something
I think I'm going to try and sketch it

We can only hope that one of the previous playable races has been swapped out for these.

There are Mammoths in game that we know of.

From a distance the size and movement, along with plowing though and kicking up snow, could give the impression of a whale to an outlander.
