I have played this game through several times in the past, But now have a NEW computer (Windows XP) and can't get the game to Load? All I get is the"First time pop-up that wants me to "Configure" but Configure wont let me in?? anyone got an answer???

I would like to play BG 2 Again(been about 1 1/2Years) but I can't get it to Install on my new computer (Windows XP) I get the "First time run" message and it wants me to "Configure" the game but it won't even let me do that? ...anyone got any ideas....please help
