Socially awkward: Imperials vs. Stormcloaks?

Post » Fri Apr 12, 2013 7:12 pm

Ok, so I'm sitting at this table in High Hrothgar trying to negotiate a truce between the Imperials and the Stormcloaks and when they starting asking me questions for my opinions and such, I really felt awkward because truth be known, even though I'm a level 47 Nord, I really was at a loss. I realized that I'd missed a great deal of what is going on around me.

So, I went to the wiki and researched both factions and that helped some. But I really don't know who to side with. Whatever the case, I still wanna be able to shop in Riften, because I saw a pair of nice stilettos at one of the stores there - jk.... But I don't want to lose access to certain cities based on whether I favor the Imperials or the Stormcloaks. So who should I side with? Know what I mean? :D

How do all of you make these choices?

Simple. I did the Civil War first, completely removes the need to even have this quest happen.
Though my original reason for doing such, was so I could limit just how often I had to talk to the Blades She-[censored].

You don't lose access to the cities though, also there is a way to go even so that both sides only get one hold. Though for gear the Imperials give leveled items whereas Ulfric gives away junk and if you want to go further into an rp set of mind the Imperials would bring stability to Skyrim because they have the money and man-power to better keep peace in skyrim after Ulfric is dealt with whereas Ulfric has no clue how to save money, an independent skyrim has no trade relations with any other provinces and doesn't have the man-power to get rid of bandits which thrived in stormcloak territory.

Spoiler
Also due to the forsworn conspiracy the forsworn are more driven to kick out the nordic rule, the Imperials are still on unknown terms with the forsworn so they could probably arrange some deal whereas Ulfric is seen as a land-stealer and oppressor so diplomatic relations would fail.

Of course these are purely my views and they will most likely piss off a stormcloak supporter.

This man knows his stuff. Little known fact: Most Stormcloaks are inbred :yuck: Also just so you know Ulfric is actually the mutant offspring of a Frost Troll and Haelga. When the lowly Stormcloak supports come here and try and say otherwise just look at your TV screen and sing a lovely song in your head all the way to Solitude.

I've narrowed it down to a few choices. It depends in morality much like the "death penalty."

1. Should Ulfric have talked to Torygg before killing him? Does it even matter to you?

2. Do you acknowledge Ulfric's bitter alliance with the Thalmor or do you think the dossier is unclear/clear (why are you asking this DK?!)

3. Does the White Gold Concordat seem justified to you?

4. Is Ulfric's attack on Whiterun justified? Balgruuf sent the axe as a signature of peace or no peace. Correct me if I'm wrong.

This should help you out. In the end, you may become something like me: you don't like the Empire's decrees, but the Stormcloaks drive you nuts, so you ally with the Empire or vice-versa.

We don't need the assistance. Both sides shoot themselves in the foot just nicely on their own.

Nah imperials are too weak, what with their modern views, better laws, philosophical views, and how they can settle political matters without causing a war sometimes oh and those useless things called economical intelligence, diplomatic skills and tactics.

They eat babies! This is a known fact studied after much replicated experiments from yours truly, http://www.troll.me/images/john-marston/aint-your-fault-but-you-eat-babies-thumb.jpg.

He's actually a reincarnation of N'Gasta. True story. It infallibly explains why he hates Altmer so much. He's the infamous Sload necromancer in force.

Good thing the Imperials are so strong that they use people from other races to do their work while they sit around and "think up ideas."

So then why do the Imperials obey an empire that was founded by a Nord?

Yup the imperials totally don't use any of their own race in their legion, there has never been any imperial legion members with the rank lower then knight, nope never not once.

Suspected Nord, his race is still under dispute.
