Sold out almost everywhere!

Post » Fri Aug 14, 2009 11:23 am

On Saturday I went to 2 gamestops and the 360 version was sold out. Then Sunday on 2 different gamestops, sold out as well. Then today (Monday) I went to 3 gamestops and they were ALL sold out...

I called to make sure they actually don't have it and they all said sold out except for one store that said it had 1 more left.I was like FINNALY!. Then he goes to make sure and someone was buying the last one right as I was calling.

I want to get this game but whats going on?
Did they not send out a lot of copies or is the 360 version really popular?

If it is sold out almost everywhere then why are there only like 220k people on the leader boards? Not saying your lying but this game has produces poorly on sales.

not everyone plays online and some people are banned from playing online so there should be some copies that have not gone onlne and are not on the leaderboards

Well you see if you know anything about the first Crysis then you know it was only released on PC meaning the series was made popular by PC fans and Crysis 2 the majority of people that are going to buy this game are you guessed it PC gamers. A lot of people like the single player also and its also on the **** 3.

14% of sales have been made on the PC. About 54% on the 360. It's amazing how hype can create a fanbase about 4x larger than the original one which has been around for years.

Well, despite Crytek releasing Crysis 2 well before it was ready, seems like it's selling. Hopefully this will finally convince them to actually finish what they began and get this game out of beta.

Or, as I fear is more likely considering certain other titles recently published by EA, we'll get a hasty patch that barely fixes anything and Crysis 2 ends up as just another game abandoned by it's creators barely after release. I remember when that seemed crazy, now it's the trend in game development.

Hopefully Crytek will convince me otherwise, and actually give their customers the full purchase worth. Until then, all I can say is:

That and several threads on the PC forum. It looks like the figure was actually 57%. You may not realize it, but 360 sales are often the largest, primarily because it's the most abundant platform.

Our Gamestop didn't have a midnight release party because only 4 people pre-ordered it. They didn't order many copies total and then that Tuesday night they were sold out. :\

We get good servers? Everyone on every platform is getting screwed big time. Especially the PC. We were promised a great deal of amazing features which were quietly removed some time over the past few months. And, technically speaking, Crysis 2 is based around the 360 design. It's your guys' game. We pretty much got a port of your version; the title screen literally said "Press Start to Begin" on day one.

Since it seems that every platform is plagued by a major lack of support, we should probably stop assuming things about each other.

14% of sales for the PC do not include online purchasing (steam). Only from stores :3

reply to tokostudio:
Yeah I know what you mean, most games are released then a few patches and never updated after that. Thats why I'm really looking forward to Gears of War 3, instead of releasing it before it was ready they decided to push back and give it more time to make it better, and to get it out for the holidays.
