A Star Wars reference, and a song from Back to the Future - 2 movies references in one post - "The Empire Strikes Back to the Future." The best movie idea ever.

Not to mention back to back references 2. "The Empire Strikes Back to the Future" beyond awesome.

Anyone else agree the the solider should get the ability to carry more grenades. I mean more overall and not just different variations.

I agree, i they did in ETQW aswell. It would help, i mean what other advantages does a soldier have?
I think the soldier should be played as a medium, you want to get tehre quicker than a heavy, but have access to the assualt rifle that a light doesnt. Do soldiers plant bombs?

EDIT: Ah yes it their objective mainly, i think an effective strategy would be to have a GL with you to support and kill the enemy, and an AR for all ranges.

In RTCW and ET, the Engineer had the most grenades, since he was the one with the explosives. QW was when they handed explosives over to the Soldier - but the Engineer still had landmines....

Actually, considering the amount of weapon customisation Brink will supposedly allow, this could be pretty interesting. One HMG with an enlarged ammo case, one with a silencer and recoil suppressor?

No. HMG with a silencer? No. recoil suppressor fine, silencer, No. silencer on HMG is like a silencer on shotgun, USELESS. (unless you want to protect your ears, it's still as audible as a gunshot.)

Besides i'm pretty sure the barrels on LMGs and HMGs don't support silencers.

MW2 threw nukes into tiny battlefields.
MW2 this, MW2 that, i'm joining the forces because of MW2, shut up already, its a work of broken unbalanced fiction. did you know a pistol to the foot will kill you in 2 hits? did you also know that FMJ on a .50 calibur sniper (which is meant for one shot killing TANKS) will NOT penetrate a piece of ballistic plastic? do some actual research before bringing the call of duty bull here.

just saying. mw2 is a pice of crap but it is slighty more realistic than brink will be.

silencers will work just fine on hmgs

1.If you are using an LMG/HMG and you ask your CO for a silencer, he will laugh in your face, and then tell you that you a support gunner, not a pansy.
2.What covert op uses a flipping LMG? silencers are used to not let the enemy know where you are, with such a bulky humongous weapon stealth is not very practical.
3.If you were to attach a silencer to an M249 SAW or an M60, or a 21E or an MG34 you know what would happen? after about 40 shots, your silencer is SHREDDED.
4.Things with such heavy calibur rounds need longer silencers, to silence an HMG you'd need like a 3 foot long silencer, more bulk.

so in summary

You'd go through suppressors like you wouldn't believe, and all you'd really be getting is something along the lines of a UMP45 with a higher capacity magazine and more accuracy, but nowhere near the same mobility, not to mention how loud it will still be.

here's an idea, still very audible: watch?v=C-jQPK40pkM

It sounds so quiet doesn't it?

Silencers on LMG/HMGs are NOT practical, and will shred through suppressors like kleenex.

Just because Call of Duty does something, doesn't mean it makes sense, and is practical. (laptop AC-130 and Apache pilot?)

I think Brink is using fictional firearms, and customization seems to something they're talking about. It's a game - limiting options to "what's practical," can lead to dull, boring gameplay. Especially with something like customizing weapons, since it isn't done during matches, and different body types mean not everyone will have access to every gun, all the time.

It wasnt meant to be silent, it was only meant to stop muzzle flash, which it did. That way the person would not have been spotted, but the enemy would still be aware of them becasue they would have that a mile away :P. In mw2 they shouldnt be that silent, but thats because they changed it so that the lmg's were balanced i guess

Speaking of silencers will they just make your shots silent or will they have other effects? I know a big one normal is invisible to minimap radar.

I've heard about special grenades like flashbangs or stuns, are these confirmed for the soldier or at all?

Not for the soldier persay. I here lots of clamor for the medic to get flashbang. The soldier should get the most grenades though.

The official site says the soldier can choose to "specialize in grenades," probably through the use of unlockable abilites.
