I somehow managed to kill the blacksmith so I resurrected him via console. After that he goes about his normal routine working his forge but I cant buy/sell stuff to him the dialog isnt there. Anyone know of anyway to fix this?

Originally, I was told that when you resurrect an NPC they only exist graphically, but recently people have mentioned that there are two ways to resurrect NPCs and one of them restores them. Check UESP and Wikia or wait and someone will eventually tell you how. They've probably already posted it while I was typing this.

When you resurrect you get the NPC back but not their merchant scripts. try typing it this way:

resurrect 1

Don't ask my why but I think the "1" makes a difference.

What happens if you use placeatme instead?

Tried that as well. I think thats what I actually did before I had killed him and couldnt find his body. so I did placeatme
