Seeing as how I cannot purchase the Hjerim house due to bugs, do I need to complete the whole Stormcloaks chain for me to be able to purchase the Solitude house? I'm at the mission, Liberate the Reach.

You just need to do Elisif's misc quest(s), then her steward will sell to you

It might be bugged. Both the Windhelm house and Solitude houses bugged out for me. I completed the whole civil war questline and the windhelm guy tells me he cant sell it because of 'unpleasantness' and the solitude guys are missing convo options for buying a house AND doing work for them. :sadvaultboy:

Ah well, I've got two houses, spose I cant be TOO upset....what to do with all the money though? There just aint enough sweetrolls in the world....

My Breezehouse home is bugged. I can't store weapons or armour on the racks. I read somewhere that happens sometimes and that your should do a specific save before buying somewhere or house stuff to make sure it works.

If you find a problem, you have to load again and try it once more. That normally sorts it. If you didn't do it here you could be screwed.

I got way to much money as well and i just buy a horse a day because they seem to die so easy lol

You will need to do the Blood in the Ice quest (boti), problem is that for many players - the quest just doesn't initiate. Or, it could initiate randomly and then you could be faced with even more problems, some of which could make your house unsuitable.

I wouldn't be surprised if your windhelm house isn't bugged. The 'unpleasantness' I believe is referring to the murder investigation sidequest in windhelm you may have missed.

Horses irritate me. I dont want them to help me in a fight, I always end up killing them in annoyance...

Now, if I could actually have a tangible 'drunk' effect, I'd blow it all on booze and get the whole town drunk with me. I spose I'd be like Andrew W.K, if you replaced the party-rock schtick with face-smashing...

I did just two quests to get the Solitude house- I walked in on a conversation the jarl and her steward were having about a cave - I had to ASK about the cave again to get the quest. When that quest is done if you talk to the jarl again she will offer you a quest. When that is complete she thanks you and tells you you've earned the right to buy property.

So talk to the steward and see if there is a dialogue option to talk about anything. You have to do his quest first before the jarl trusts you to do anything for her.
