some consideration

hi guys and girls.

listen, first off this thread is based on a consumer's opinion. i certainly don't want to argue with anyone,
know there are a few 'like minded' threads, but i'd like to VOICE my own here.

"forced" third-person finnishing moves.

i am really really unhappy with this. my whole reason for loving TES so much and for joining this forum lies in the
fact that it is meant to be a FIRST person game before anything else. todd has on several occasions stated as much.
the series prides itself on stuff like leaving the choices TO THE PLAYER! so what's going on here then?????????

what on earth could be stopping them from just leaving us, the players, the option to toggle?
i'm glad that some of you will not be bothered by this, i really am. i'm glad that you don't feel as let down as I do.

i can't describe how much i was looking forward to exploring skyrim on my horse in first person. then a few days ago i
come here and find out that emm actually NO.... no i can't they're just going to REMOVE that feature, casual as you like.
someone in there must of had at least some objections to this.

i love this series, but every day now there seems to be fresh news that leaves a sour taste in my mouth.
i just want to know does anybody else feel as i do????

i know there are similar threads, this is MY statement and i'm stating that i'm not happy
with this at all. pbviously i'll still be spending 50 euro on this as i love elder scrolls but i'm upset
that i MUST ride in third person and see finnishing moves in the 3rd also.

i wonder is there anyway they would change their minds and include a toggle option.
respect to you all, let me know what ye think.

tbh i like them, but even if i didnt, the 3 seconds they last doesn't really ruin anything, and i think it may be past the point of adding anything to the game? im not to sure tho

I'm afraid we've passed the rubicon in terms of game development...you'll have to wait for someone to mod it out.

well they do have to appeal to everyone so locked third for finishing moves is a good way to show off the action side but not all of the finishing moves are locking third as we've seen form the gameplay i personally felt forced into playing first person because it was so hard to play in third even more so when your a mage so this is mainly just a way to appeal to a larger audience because not everyone likes first person games

Welcome to the 21st century :celebrate: Many games that are on the market are 3rd person only and several will play Skyrim that way. I really don't care either way and most do not except a few. Besides it may break the monotany of hack n slash fighting. :violin:

I think some of it was that the slow-mo deaths were so popular in fallout that they figured it would be good to roll them over into skyrim. I personally don't mind since it would too hard to follow from a first person view and you're on rails once the action is started (i'm not aware of any kind of interrupt). I believe in the podcast interview with gameinformer Todd said that the player chose when to activate them by holding down the attack, so if you really don't want to see them just use quick taps, unless holding is a way to do a hard vs quick attack.

I never really understood why people were freaking out about third person finishing moves and third person horse riding, I actually prefer it that way. However I wish you could at least use a bow or something while riding, I was hoping for some sort of horse combat.

Sorry, but all that the Bethesda folks read was the bold/underlined statement. They already have your money, no need to read further. I love posts that state "I hate such and such SOOOOO much, but of course, I'm buying it no matter what they do.

I kind of get what your saying, it should be your choice if you choose to disembowel someone. But on the otherhand i think back at how mindless oblivion was with taking loads of swings at an enemy before they dropped. In Fallout 3 you homed in on a limb and blasted ten hells out of it until your enemy fell and it made for far more engaging gameplay. Im personally looking forward to the finishing moves, anyone who's played the assassins creed series will tell you that quick three second finishers are actually pretty good fun!

I don't mind the third person so much ... Unless it's bugged and glitchy, and you get stuck in 3rd person watching yourself die in 3rd person, slo-mo repeatedly because the game wasn't properly beta tested ... cough , cough.. Not that certain developers have a reputation for releasing buggy games or anything. cough , cough .

I'm off to get some Nyquil , this cough has got to go.

seriously whats the problem? so your gonna spend some of your time in first person, its a game not real life
in non-combat situations the difference in perspective really doesn't change anything
y honestly i think your complaint is a bit pathetic

seriously though i'm unhappy with this news

Then post it in an open thread http://www.gamesas.com/index.php?/topic/1231643-finishing-moves-and-its-features-cant-be-turned-off/page__pid__18618055__st__80#entry18618055

There's plenty of unhappy people and not every single one is starting a new thread on it. It would clutter up the forum to no end.

I think those are pretty minor things that will not really affect gameplay and I think in all likelihood you will not even notice after half an hour of actually playing because you will be so blown away by the games awesomeness.

i see what you're saying and you have the right to your opinion....you also have the right to be wrong.

you may not see a problem and that's fine. have an open mind to other people's opinions, you don't
have to like them or anything but don't say someones opinion is pathetic; i'd never be so miserable as to do that. thanks for the reply though
