Some Crysis Wars questions...

Post » Fri Jun 03, 2011 3:01 am

After playing the Crysis 2 I decided to order Crysis simply to run through the entire story and get up to date whilst keeping my Crysis gun game up ready for crysis 2. Although the story was fantastic and i'm ordering Warhead as I type I was wondering is this Crysis Wars decent?

I thought Crysis online was awful. The lack of a ranking system and wepon upgrades, The fact you always spawned with a pistol, the endless games with people scoring over 200 kills, people running around with maximum speed all the time, them futuristic looking guns which were overpowered to the max and looked kinda stupid... well I could go on for a while.

I was wondering is Crysis wars the same, all I've found out from the net is that there is a team instant action mode which sounds positive...
is there any kind of ranking system/prestige?
are there weapon upgrades?
Do you spawn with "your gun" rather than a pistol. When I say "your gun" I mean a gun that you have modified to your specs in an out of game menu.
Whats the spawning system like, i'm not going to spawn into 3 guys having a shoot out am I?

Would really appreciate it if someone could answer my questions, thank's

It's exactly like Crysis 1 MP. With few minor changes and very few new weapons like the AY69. Instant Action is the only game mode worth playing. Power Struggle should just be called driving simulator because no one knows how to play it.

Lol, Crysis and Wars are the exact opposite of CryCOD 2. If you don't like Battlefield 2, you won't like Crysis 1 MP or Wars. I love 'em both. This is what is pissing so many old Crysis players off. Crytek did a 180 and went from Battlefield style to COD style.

If you want to see what Wars MP is like, look up the Power Struggle tutorial on google. I think there are two different videos on YouTube.

I watched this video and it seems the concept is the same, the team instant action looks good though.

Yes.

It's the as the original crysis.

are there weapon upgrades?
weapons are modifiable in game.

Some servers are modded so that you spawn with certain things. In PS you can grab the weapon you want using loadouts (classes). While you're waiting to spawn just press p-4-n where n corresponds to the number of the loadout (class) you want to use.

Whats the spawning system like, i'm not going to spawn into 3 guys having a shoot out am I?
It's not flawless but it's not bad. There's no spawn camping in TIA or IA, however in PS there's a little thing the community calls bunker raqe...and base raqe and tunnel raqe. Lots of different spawn raqes in PS.

Still I think the game has great potential for 1vs1 competitive play.

Only fun I found in Crysis Wars was going on Mesa, driving as close to the border of the map as possible, and jumping the 'ramp' off the cliff.

It throws you from the US sniper positions to the War Factory, if you can get enough speed.

Oh yeah, the ramp! That is fun! Especially when you got a sniper drawing a bead on you from the wall.
