Some good to know info on Statues?

Post » Fri Oct 29, 2010 12:15 am

So, I have been playing for a very long time now, and have finally decided to start my own pen and paper RPG set in the Elder Scrolls universe with some friends. And there is one bit of lore that seems to elude me every chance it gets. I have done a search and tried some other sources and I can't find all the info I want in the same, easy to go to place.

So I figured this was the best place to turn to.

I would like to know what each of the prominent statues in each city in Cyrodill is and if anyone knows the back stories of those people. I have only found bits and pieces about some, and then absolutely nothing on others. So, fellow geeks and lore junkies, please lend me your brains so I can know it all!!

I really appreciate your help! :D

The http://uesp.net/wiki/Oblivion:Arboretum has a list of the statues in the Arboretum. The ones in the market district are emperors, Uriel V being among them, iirc. Those are enumerated only in the guide book, afaik.

That statue infomation from the Prima Guide should probably be put up on TIL with the Cities of Cyrodiil pages.

Hm... There is one in... Skingrad? Which is a depiction of some Perry the Young or light (he liked light armour) or something. He got a bird on his hand and defended his city against some invaders... Thats the little I know.

Then there are also the statues in the Arena District. The girl is Saint Alessia and the other one is propably Morihaus.

Thats all I know! Promise!

I'm not sure if any of the librarians own the guide. I suppose I could pick it up (I'm starting to amass quite the collection) if I find it somewhere cheap.

In terms of city statues, I think there is in game dialog and load screens about them. I'll look those up tomorrow if you still need them by then.

Well thank you guys!

I know that the statue in Anvil is supposed to be some sort of guardian of the sea or some such thing, which would explain why she is in that particular city, but I would like to know more about her. Also, there is the Lucky Lady but... I am pretty sure we all know who she it ;)

I would still appreciate more info on the different cities. I have no earthly clue who most of them are.

Thank you again to those of you who did respond, and so fast too!

The statue in Leyawiin is Topal the Pilot (a.k.a. Torval the Pilot).

Thank you so much! That is so helpful.

I have been playing TES ever since Morrowind, but I still haven't managed to learn that much lore, at least not as much as I'd like so this is a very good start for my campaign.

Thank you again. Any more discussion about the statues/ people they portray is of course, welcome.
