Some great news!

OP you should change your 1st post and clarify that finishing moves can't be disabled. The article is wrong and it's misleading to others, as seen...

The information in that article is based off Pete's twitter, and Pete answered my tweet before that finishing moves can't be disabled in any way.

This article has obviously gotten it all wrong, even though I do wish it was true that it was optional :(

I don't know. Pete has gotten things wrong before.

3rd person view finishing moves can be disabled!

Link. http://www.gameranx.com/updates/id/3001/article/skyrim-allows-you-to-hide-ui-features-new-speechcraft-system/

The way this is worded makes it seem as though you can "disable" the 3rd Person view; so that you only see finishers in 1st Person too keep combat fluid...

I assume its that since "Finishers can't be disabled" yet "3rd Person View' finishing moves" can be..

I agree, he's the VP and PR guy not a dev. Maybe the devs read some of the complaints of the whiners on this forum. Besides 3P has been forced since MW hlvr (death and sitting)

Maybie Todd decided to add it in for the sake of the fans?

Morrowind didn't have sitting and Oblivion only transitioned to third-person upon death or during the transitional animation for sitting, but not while sitting...

Don't you get it?
This article is based off Pete's twitter: http://www.gameranx.com/updates/id/3001/article/skyrim-allows-you-to-hide-ui-features-new-speechcraft-system/
It says "Bethesda's Pete Hines has revealed a number of startling new details about Skyrim, including the ability to hide the HUD in its entirety."

The author of the article obviously misread Pete's real twitter answer, that said, very sadly, that finishing moves in any way can't be disabled: http://twitter.com/#!/DCDeacon/status/115860739272605696

In other words, this article source CAN'T be right. Another question though is if Pete is wrong, but since he said in the tweet that he had already confirmed it several times before, I think he's pretty certain.

Branching conversations... I guess THAT is one reason to have 70+ voice actors.

HUD can be disabled! You can remove everything even crosshairs.

Could have sworn he said you couldn't do this. Or atleast you can't turn off specific features and leave other things up.

I agree, I wouldn't mind at all if it was all in FP.
Not because I'm an immersion fanatic, but because if I "Finish" something in a fight with 3 enemies, I don't want to pull out and slow down to watch my Char. get wailed on.

I just got into the elder scrolls about 2 weeks ago. I see now that the information regarding this game is a very touchy subject. Lol. You true long term fans just want the truth. So I apologize for posting this. After going through your responses I see that everything you read on the internet about Skyrim is not true. Next I swear I look into it a little more. I just assumed that since it was from the twitter page it had to be right. I now know anything and everything can be changed. I guess the only way to really confirm anything is buy the game on nov 11th and see for yourself. I was all excited thinking I had some great info lol. Kinda like the new kid at school trying to fit in. Lol
