Some great news!

Post » Thu Sep 22, 2011 8:20 am

I just found this article that was released this morning. Some of these confirmed features are answers to questions I have been seeing in the forums. From what I can tell it came from twitter. Link below.

HUD can be disabled! You can remove everything even crosshairs.

3rd person view finishing moves can be disabled!

When you pick plants they actually are removed from the environment

Alchemy can no longer be performed anywhere, only at work stations or laboratorys.

And finally speechcrafting has had some bigger changes. More like fallout 3. The conversation branches off.

So thats what I got. Hope it answers some questions for people.

Yeah I thought so too.

I don't think I will turn it off but it is nice to have the option.

The information in that article is based off Pete's twitter, and Pete answered my tweet before that finishing moves can't be disabled in any way.

This article has obviously gotten it all wrong, even though I do wish it was true that it was optional :(

He also didn't know there was decapitation until he looked closer. I'll just wait and lurk until someone runs this by Pete. :shifty:

Nice that the Finishing Moves can be Disabled, although it'd be Cooler if you actually had to do something to do it, not Random Epicness.

It's hilarious when these sites rip info straight from this forum and then someone posts it like news.

hope its true third person finishers can be turned off it would truely show that the devs dont just write off this forum as a minority that should always be ignored.

3rd person finishers can be turned off? Good good, Today has been a good day, cleared up a lot of things people were complaining about.

I wish all hud elements could be turned on and off together and on a toggle key.
Makes taking screen shots so much faster and easier, more convenient. Such
an easy thing to implement as well.

I posted a link to the article but the guy didn't post any links to the twitter page. So I don't know. Sorry. Thought it was good.

I'm pretty sure disabling only third person finishers would be impossible.

Kinda hard to make kicking animations in first person...

FPSs back in 1996 had kicking in it.

We have no legs in 1st person. How can we kick? :)
I think that's what Bukee means.

Also, if by some strange happening finishing moves would be optional, even though we know Pete confirmed them not to be and that this article is wrong, it would probably lead to forced finishing moves would be deleted completely and be replaced by nothing.

Open the console and type in "tm" and hit enter. (Unless you're on an Xbox / Playstation, of course.)

That is assuming they don't rewrite all the commands, which I hope they don't....

On topic, I guess people will be pothering poor Pete about third-person finishing moves ALL OVER AGAIN, lol. You couldn't pay me enough to do that guy's job.

Yeah, the mighty foot sure looked realistic.

We don't see the rest of the body in first person, so it's kinda hard to implement animations that require those parts

Oh god this topic is kinda like a "do we trust pete or other info? The other info has something we like though...."
Still everything but the 3rd person thing which might not be true has already been in a thread like.... a day ago. [/]-[/]
