Some help getting my mercenary out of the dwemer ruin beneat

Post » Fri May 27, 2011 11:16 am

So, I'm doing the Main Quest for Tribunal, and I took my mercenary down with me into the dwemer ruin. Only problem is, he can't seem to jump, or properly move about when I cast levitate on him, so I can't get him out.

Does anybody know of a way? Any console commands? Any tricks? Any cheats? Anything at all? I'm kind of stuck here and don't want to be without my mercenary, not to mention then I would have to go down there and take all my high end equipment I gave him and take it back to my manor in Vvardenfell, which will be a huge hassle.

So, yeah, any help would be much appreciated. Thanks!

Sorry for the double post, but a quick update:

I tried using the console, clicking on the mercenary, and using the COC command, but that didn't work. It simply transported me there. Not what I was hoping for. So.......any other ideas? Cuz I'm stumped.

tcl and he will follow you through the walls.

just open the console and type tcl and the ledges shouldnt be a problem for either of you.

It doesn't work. He just gets lost in the void around the main room of the dwemer ruin. For some stupid reason the guy can't move vertically. Whether using levitation, or by activating tcl, he can't seem to follow me out of the damn ruin. Any other ideas? Is there perhaps any way to teleport him out? I tried making a spell of Almsivi Intervention on touch, but that's not possible. I really wish it was. Imagine the uses of such a spell...

Your spell exists already....Companion Teleport .....set him as a companion in the companion teleport setup, then go where you want, and use the companion teleport spell to pull him to you.

This is a sub-set of the bigger Improved Teleport 2.0 Mod that requires MWSE. I believe the Companion part will run in a game without MWSE standalone. Google it and you'll find what you need.

Well, the only problem is that I'm playing without any mods this time. And, I've already completed House Redoran, The Temple, and the MQ of Morrowind, and am nearing the end of the MQ in Tribunal, so starting over with mods is not a possibility. I'm trying to find a way to get him out in the vanilla game, using spells or the console, and so far nothing has worked.

I'm beginning to think that he will simply be stuck down there, and I should take my stuff from him and deposit it back at Bal Isra with the rest of my treasure.

It's odd that the devs never thought about this issue. They give you a mercenary to use in Mournhold, but then they make all sorts of places where he gets stuck and you can't get him out. I very nearly had the exact same problem in the chamber where the weather control device is located. Luckily, I got him back out.

But, as I said, it's looking like I will not be able to get him out of the ruin at all. Oh well, it's not a game breaker for me, just svcks quite a bit. Now I have to figure out some RP reason for him to stuck down there. I guess I can just kill him and pretend that he died to the shock centurions or something.

Unless anybody else has any ideas. And remember, no mods will do, I'm not using mods this time. I recently re-installed MW on a new laptop, which is not mine, but a roommates, and this roommate doesn't want me downloading a bunch of stuff, so it's out of the question. Any other ideas?

EDIT: Does anyone think the placeatpc command would work? I presume it would still leave the original Calvus Moratius or whatever his name is down in the dwemer ruin though. I guess I could kill the original and put all his equipment on the new one. Would there be any problems with this? For some reason, I have it in my head that having more than one of an NPC in the game world will cause problems. Not sure where I got this, or if it is even accurate, so some advice from someone more knowledgable on these matters would be appreciated.

Sorry for double post again, but:

Nevermind!! I got it!

The placeatpc command worked fine. I just had to go kill the original and take my stuff off him and give it to the new Calvus Horatius.

Thanks for the help anyway, guys!

Mods, feel free to lock or delete this, its purpose has been served.

EDIT: Oh, and just as a warning for anyone using the mercenary in Mournhold: DO NOT take him into the dwemer ruin in with you unless you use mods and have the companion teleport feature or can use the console to make a new mercenary...it's a pain in the ass. :)

you can add mods to an in-progress save game at any time in most cases. I understand your issue with your friends computer is stopping you though.

Glad you got it working though!
