Some interesting stuff

So, I was looking through my pics yesterday as I remembered saving a thread on a different forum of a guy who claimed to know about the new TESV and he said it would be in Skyrim and that it would not use the Gamebryo engine but a new inhouse engine.

He was shot down as a troll but I saved the thread in a screen capture cause I thought it was interesting.

It was made on the 22nd of July this year.

Here's some of the other stuff he said...

"The game is 75% complete but it's been that way for 2 years now, we've been working on it for 1 month a year since then. Don't expect it to be released for maybe 2 years"

"It runs on a new inhouse engine that was worked from the ground up. The CS is also new and built from the ground up but looks and feels exactly the same as the one for Oblivion"

"It has a new dynamic combat system with weapons and magic. You can use combos on the mouse after clicking the primary attack button to use more complex combos. Magic is the same way, only you can combine spells so long as your skill level is high enough"

"You can load your Oblivion save file into the game, and use the character you've had from Oblivion if you really want to, sort of like Mass Effect"

Like I said, most people shot this guy down as a troll, but it was interesting and he did get the engine thing and Skyrim right and also the release date right back in July, that's why I suddenly remembered it and looked for it.

Three things that scream "fake":

1.) "The game is 75% complete but it's been that way for 2 years now, we've been working on it for 1 month a year since then. Don't expect it to be released for maybe 2 years." There is absolutely no way that this is true. It goes against all common sense, as well as comments made by Todd. Plus, his estimate of two years is off by about 8 months, or 33%... That's a pretty wide margin of error.

2.) "You can use combos on the mouse after clicking the primary attack button to use more complex combos." The presence of combos by itself is not that absurd, though personally I wouldn't count on it. But I do think it's a bit odd that he would know how they are performed, and that he would describe it for PC and only for PC...

3.) "You can load your Oblivion save file into the game, and use the character you've had from Oblivion if you really want to, sort of like Mass Effect." I will be shocked if this ends up being true. It would defy all conventions established by past TES games, and based on what we can speculate of the story/setting (from what we know of Skyrim the territory, and from what was leaked when the Elder Scrolls novel came out) it would make no sense, since speculation suggest that the story of Skyrim takes place long after the events of Oblivion... Again, no real proof that this is false but a pretty solid amount of deductive reasoning to support a case against this being true.

I halfway believed it until that bit. TES games are all about having a different protagonist for each game. The Eternal Champion was not the Emporer's Agent was not the Nerevarine was not the Champion of Cyrodiil will not be the TESV protagonist.

And just transferring the equipment and stats makes even less sense.

Agree with #1, #2 is just personal opinion although would be very interesting to see that sort of system implemented in the game,

#3 the reasoning behind importing a save could serve the purpose of say, you have a level 250 and don't want to start skyrim with a level 1. And if the character design is the same as in oblivion, I at least don't want to spend an hour making a character I like looking at

The appearance thing, I can understand, especially if facegen is as awful in Skyrim as it was in Oblivion. But the whole start at level 250 thing?

..meh, I guess I'd just rather start at level 1. Personal preference, I suppose.

Sounds like the Nostradamus effect to me. Say something vague that could be attributed to next installment of game. Everyone thinks you know "secret stuff".
