Some issues about the Falkreath house

Post » Wed Dec 18, 2013 8:19 am

Decided after a long time to finally build my own house in Falkreath. (Hearthfire)

Building the house was without a problem, but ever since the house is finished I been having some problems.

1. Every time i fast travel to Lakeview Manor a giant dragon lands right above me and directly in front of my front door.

2. My wife Senna constantly complaints about giant spiders, sabre cats and other wild animals.

3. When i stand on my upper deck porch i can see a necromancer 50 meters away performing some dark ritual.

4. My son tells me to leave whenever i visit Lakeview manor.

5. My rebellious doughter Runa Fair-Shield decided (after i purchased her 3 different dresses) to walk around the house half naked.

Building that house probably wasn't that great idea, huh?

1. dragons are random encounters

2. happens with most spouses including Aela the Huntress which is hilarious in its own way because seeing her complain about living in the wilderness it just amusing.

3. That one is always there but it is not always a necromancer. For me it is usually a conjurer which is not the same thing.

4. Not about that one

5. Were any of the dresses the same color? That might be the problem.

1. Every time? You can try calming him down with a specific shout from the Dragonborn DLC, then fast travel away while mounted.

2. Every NPc reacts differently to some locations. Some love it, some hate it.

3. Love to snipe him/her with my crossbow. Consider it free target practice.

4. Try reloading/ wait for your son to initiate dialogue(pet, allowanc, etc) or clear the cache.

5. Had that problem. But it fixed itself, so no idea.

1- Thats the thing with Hearthfire houses. There's going to be dragons, pack of wolves, bandits, giants, etc attacking your home. Its up to you to defend it. The good thing is if your wife and/or steward is a housecarl, in addition to your housecarl if you have one, that's three extra bodies you have to help defend.

2- I've only had my wife complain about vermin (skeevers) in the basemant.

3- Yes there is a conjurer down by the lake. First thing I make sure to do is take him out as soon as I move in, only if my character has kids. Dont want them wandering too close.

4- Can't help you on that one. Never heard of that happening.

5- Are the dresses the same color? IF shes wearing say a red dress and you get another red one, it will glitch and cause her to appear naked.

The most distubring thing is that you were sneaking when looking at your daughter in her underwear! :D

Fast traveling to the HF houses tends to set off random encounters. Try fast traveling to somewhere close by and walking the rest of the way. Or, just enjoy the chance to practice your martial skills!

Most wives--and some husbands--are hard-to-please drama queens, and will complain about your house no matter where you live. As far as I know, the only wives/husbands that are OK with wherever you're living are the ones that use the YoungEager voice (for either six). That is: Ysolda, Sylgia, Jordis the Sword-Maiden, Orla, Brelyna Maryon or Muiri for women, and Onmund or Quintus Navale for men. The only house that nobody ever complains about is Proudspire Manor.

Kill him. That'll solve that problem!

Sounds like he needs a good spanking!! :D No, actually, try moving your family to another home, then back to Lakeview. That might clear that issue up.

Besides being creepy, that's a known issue with kids, especially girls and especially (for some reason) with the red dress. Just give her back her old outfit (it's probably in her dresser/chest) and she should change back.
