Some Pre-Order Bonus's...

Post » Fri Nov 27, 2015 4:22 pm

What are some pre-order bonus's you'd like to see from different retailers?

My top three would either be:

1) A Unique Weapon

2) A Unique Quest

3) A Unique Feature/ addition in some capacity to settlement building

The only reason I've yet to order FO4 is because I want to see who's going to throw in what for me. . .

None. All unique weapons, and armor should be in the main game and not pieced out to get people to preorder. At this point, Bethesda doesn't need to do much to get people to preorder already.

No thank you. I really hate missing out on something simply because I just to buy from one place and not another.

Pre-Orders are content intentionally removed from the game or locked content to drive up sales. Sorry OP, but I want to pay for a whole game. Besides, Pre-Orders are worthless because they always sell them on the marketplace anyway, so special snowflakes have no real bragging rights there either.

Not only that, but people buy copies from each place and then cancel or return the game after redeeming the codes. Kind of throws off the true sales numbers.

I'm sure selling Courier's Stash made a lot of money.

if we have to have a per-order I'd rather it be a Gun or outfit compared to a quest or Companion.

I wouldn't mind something like the EB helm for Morrowind that folks who didn't get their copy from EB could download for free from the Bethesda site a couple months after release. Anything remotely unique shouldn't be more than temporarily exclusive. The helm was nice because you had to find it in-game and it was in a remote and dangerous location.

My pet peeve with pre-order bonuses are items that affect early game balance. Once the game has been out for awhile it doesn't matter so much, but when I first emerge from the vault, I don't want a special Gamestop rifle waiting for me.

As someone who's already pre-ordered the Pip-Boy edition: THIS.

I detest in-game preorder bonuses unless they're early in-game access to items you can get later. Dark Souls 2 was a decent example of it. You got a number of cool looking weapons and shields that had stats comparable to other early-game weapons. You could acquire these by either pre-ordering, or by playing to late-game, where a vendor would sell them.

Now if we're talking armors for costumes, then Hell yeah!! I'd love something like that in my Pre-Order. I can finally go around dressed as a Veteran Ranger.

Well if we're talking in-game pre order bonuses, armor is acceptable. I went with the Gamestop New Vegas pre order because that came with the armored jumpsuit from Holy Vault 13, which is way more sixy than a Vault 21 jumpsuit.

That said, if it was a Vault 101 Jumpsuit I got at the beginning, I'd be "Mehhhhhhhhh..." and consider that...Not worth my pre-order money.

At the moment I can't think of any cool "outfit" type items I'd want...

Since it's based in Boston...Maybe an outfit modeled after one of George Washingtons outfits?

Oooh, or "Pre-order now, and get the Founding Fathers outfit pack. George Washington, Abe Lincoln, Thomas Jefferson, and everyone's favorite egotist, John Hancock! Gamestop- power to the players!"

Woudnt mind a pre-order bonus, but in a way that didnt make it unique weapons or such. Say you start with a nice starter kit: like some mod for your vault suit and maybe something for your 10mm pistol or such. All items given in such a way should be ingame already, just getting it from the start would be nice. Also, no high end or late game stuff either, low end low grade stuff just to start you off. Couriers stash is a nice example of this.
