Meridia, Wayward Solar daughter, exiled for consorting with Illicit Spectra. Whatever that means.
But, here is where it gets interesting. Aedra can die, Daedra cannot. Sayeth the lore. Meridia even grants to Umaril a form of deathlessness. So why don't the greater Aedra become Daedra and protect themselves? (Well, possibly this is exactly what Meridia was exiled for.) But Lorkhan/Shor is not totally dead. Maybe Aedra can only be sort-of killed?
There are three classes of gods: Aedra, Daedra and Magna-Ge. Meridia was no Aedra, she was once a Magna-Ge.
The Aedra are part of Mundus, the Daedra are tied to it but not a part of it and the Magna-Ge have no ties to it. The Magna-Ge are the ones that left with Magnus during the convention.
Meridia was once a Magna-Ge. However, as soon as she picked up her boy-toy Umaril and started helping him out, she was kicked out of Aetheirous by her daddy Magnus because she began meddling with Mundus, which is a no-no for Magna-Ge. Magna-Ge don't touch Mundus, so as soon as she did she ceased being a Magna-Ge and became a Daedra. Mundus of course was the "Illicit Spectra".
What if everyone was lying and each Greymarch Sheo picks someone to turn nuts, pulls the Jygg schtick, and then the greymarch happens again another 1000 years? Kind of like how Hircine periodically has the Bloodmoon and picks the top warriors to be hunted. Just another game to play with the silly mortals.
Its not a game, it something the Daedra, as non-Mundane begins,a re forced to do. Before Mundus the gods were slaves to cycles, forced to go about the same things over and over again in repeated patterns without free-will. These cycles allt he Daedra seem to take part in are all part of their nature, things they must do.
I've heard she hit the roof when she discovered old Molag Bal was also having an illicit affair with Lord Vivec. :shocking:
Molag Bal has illicit affairs with everything that moves.
